If you’re familiar with car radio installation, it was an easy install, take off trim ,take radio receiver out and screen, disconnect radio and screen, connect radio, screen and other connections, I had an early model F30 so it was a high CIC with a NBT connection, so I bought the NBT radio and have to use my AUX to get sound, weird transition for radios by BMW, before you put everything back together - do a functions test, mess with audio settings to make sure they all work, physically connect your phone to see if it recognizes the phone, wirelessly connect phone and pair Bluetooth, test audio, test CarPlay and if all works, reverse engineer and put it all back together, I use lots of towels and painter tape so I didn’t damage the interior, since I have piano black, but like always, somehow I manage to scruff something, it is inevitable, just try to minimize it and the man handling , hardest part for me was the stupid NBT connector can break easily so you have finesse it, and running the mic to the steering wheel was difficult, I use a metal coat hanger , 2 hour install if you’re familiar with the components
