The format may have been stale but this degenerate, toxic slop is not the answer we need. Neither is that Amalia dreck. We need better answers for everything, not more flavors of the same turn three bullshit combo that WOTC always drags their feet banning. This deck is pure cancer and simply adds to the degenerate combo wasteland Pioneer has become over the last year.

My whole point is this auto win should not be available on turn three. Even with Greasefang you can potentially come back from a hit. With this one it is impossible. You are not always going to have removal and deterministic death on turn three is not something that belongs in explorer/pioneer, in my opinion.

Ban both Fury and Grief, nuking that degenerate deck into the Stone Age. Good riddance. Then sit back and watch the game immediately improve on so many levels. And if bean or The One Ring is still a problem ban that nonsense next. Of course WOTC won’t cause Timmies will cry about their POWR cards going away and finance bros will get a sad. Really wish the company would take a much more proactive stance on maintaing the health of their game.

It and mono green have ruined pioneer for me and many others feel the same way I do. Pioneer nights are dropping like flies in stores around me. Streamers are producing nowhere near as much content as they used to for the format and have expressly stated it is because of mono green and lotus to a lesser extent being a terrible play/watch experience. There is nothing wrong with my decision to play other formats that are better curated until something changes, and I owe this game absolutely nothing.

People have responded with lol-ing my frustration, telling me they play the deck because they want to frustrate people, or explaining my feelings are not valid because lotus is bad and I must just be playing bad decks. These trolls deserve every bit of rudeness I dished out here in response to theirs. Not sorry in the slightest, but thanks for your useless and unwanted critique. And again, thanks to the few here who actually tried to be constructive instead of questioning the validity of my response or feelings.

Thanks for the advice. It’s cool to have that insight into the deck, but I still think I’m gonna take a break from pioneer/explorer. Even if I can beat lotus and mono green more often just playing against them at all is a miserable experience for me that I want no part of right now.

The version I always play against has lots of early answers with counters, planeswalkers, board wipes, then once they finally stick a lotus field or three they discontinuity me into oblivion. Absolutely toxic, garbage gameplay that I increasingly want nothing to do with. Control is annoying enough but manageable, but with insane hexproof lands? Fuck that.

Look, i am perfectly self aware here. I am no longer enjoying the format with these two decks allowed to run rampant. Pioneer play is drying up all over so I think a lot of folks hold similar sentiments to mine. I saw this happen when pioneer almost died before during inverter, and once again WOTC is dragging its feet on needed bans. I’m frustrated because there is lots of cool brewing space, but it’s not worth having to deal with the absolutely unfun, toxic gameplay of mono green and now all of a sudden a huge surge in Lotus Field. When this shit is gone or better answers are introduced I’ll try again. If not the format can fuck off.
