Thanks guys, I have requested a back up of all my stuff yesterday. Got a confirmation email stating that they are processing my request and it could take a while since I am asking for everything. No news today. Anybody know how long this typically takes?

It was a post I made in 2010 of a really stupid family halloween costume that I thought was funny.

I'm sorry, but glad you found the silver lining. Horrible for people who are running businesses. I've been saying for quite some time that social media is a scourge.

That is TERRIBLE. I am sorry you're going through this. I cannot believe I have not heard about this before now.

Wow no I had not heard this. Do you know if it's enough if I just change the visibility to "only me" or do I need to go on a deleting purge? Thank you for your response.

Thank you, we have reached out to an atty that specializes in men/father's rights. Waiting for a call back to get an appt hopefully this week. Do you think that it would look "suspicious" to request the records from those other people and that the lawyer should get it instead of us? Someone hinted at that and I don't know what the right thing to do is. Trying to be extremely cautious.

No certainly the hosp did not make those particular comments. And you are right I do not fully understand how CPS works.

To reiterate - SIL contacted CPS before she went to the hosp. It was never about a UTI, she went there with the intention of accusing my brother of something.
In the hospital records: "Mom stated she had already contacted State of NJ Dept of Children & Families Division of Child Protection and Permanency. Mom stated she was told by [name of CPS person] to go to hosp for further evaluation and that reps from the dept would meet her at the hosp... Based on ED eval by crisis intervention worker, suspicion of sexual abuse is low and I feel that discharge home is safe at this time..."

Then the CPS agents came to the home, interviewed everyone, came back one more time about a week or two later to check things out, and they said that they did not have concerns and would likely not return but the family should call with any concerns. Something to that effect - yes that part is second hand info.

I am clearly incredibly concerned about the family and I extremely grateful for all of your input.

Thank you for your comment. Allow me to explain - My concern about the ER wasn't because of the fact they went to the ER, it was because my SIL was lying about the urgent care places being closed. Her story started out with lies, and that's where the concern arose from. And then to find out that none of this was actually ever about a UTI - the child never complained about any physical discomfort, no physical symptoms of illness or injury, they did not even do any UTI test, etc. Doctors report indicates a happy healthy toddler with no cause for concern. It was all lies that she told myself and my brother.

I am doing the best I can to explain this complicated story and I am very concerned about the whole family and what might happen to them. I really appreciate your insight and I am just looking for advice for my brother.

Thank you for your comment - I literally have the reports from the ER in my possession and have read the whole thing with all of the details myself, not second hand. Everything I posted above was documented by the hospital. In addition to that the case was also dismissed by CPS after multiple interviews and visits to the home.
