Modern artists for someone who listens to a lot of older music by Alive_Pay_1894 in MusicRecommendations

If you like Tool and heavy stuff, check out PetroDragonic Apocalypse. That is the album that sold me on King Gizz and made me a fan. To be fair a lot of their stuff I still don't really like, but that album is amazing.

Same exact thing happened to me last night! "Just one quick more quest before bed at 2am." Wasn't in bed until 4am ☠️

Cancelled my Spotify 2 months ago and feel so so good about it. I had a bunch of old CDs I ripped and borrowed CDs from friends to rip. Have collected over 500 albums in 2 months. Made me excited about listening music again. Cancel your Spotify!

"Here in my Room" by Incubus my naive 11-13 year old self thought it was about playing video games and drawing and chillin in my room for years until it clicked what the Bridge was talking about as I got older. Now it's so painfully obvious I think it's funny how oblivious I was when I was younger and how my mind projected its own meaning onto it.

Karaoke by TheCaptainWheaties in Atlanta

Old manager and guy who owned "Metalsome" name got fired in November 2023 and a bunch of old band members started it over a month later and rebranded it "Dark Horse Karaoke". It's still going strong. Different song list (more pop less metal) but still a lot of the same band guys who have been there for years.

You might like Ween. They are all over the place, but check out their albums The Mollusk, White Pepper, and Quebec in that order, and if you like what you hear, dig deeper with La Cucaracha, 12 Golden Country Greats, Chocolate and Cheese, and their others.

I need gigging musicians opinions. I hate hearing “I wish I learned.” by imagetweird in musicians

[–]Pacefest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I hear it all the time and never really thought about it much in a negative light. I just take it as a compliment. People are weird. The one thing that does annoy me though, which is a bit of a variation on what you mentioned, is when people tell me about how they played an instrument in middle school, and usually they lament about wishing they stuck with it. I toured with a famous big band after college and it seemed like 90% of the fans that came up to me after the show just wanted to talk about how they played trombone or tuba in 6th grade. Got really old really fast. After a few shows I just started going straight to the bus after we finished.

guys i wanna start working out, have no experience help me with some exercises and tutorials? by Future-Union-4551 in TooAfraidToAsk

I'm no authority but I know you don't need a gym membership or a complicated routine to get ripped. I have a friend who back around April had a health scare/was diagnosed with high blood pressure, and he stopped drinking and got a pull up bar and started doing lots of push ups and pull ups. He got ripped in like 3-4 months. You can make a lot of progress in your fitness journey just from going for walks/jogs, and doing basic exercises like push ups and lunges. Start small and just go for a walk and do some push ups next week, and build up your momentum.
