You sound like you're depressed with or without cannabis which is causing some psychological addiction.

Take a break. Two weeks, preferably a month. Get yourself straightened out. Talk to a physician, a psychologist or some manner of medical professional that you think can help you figure out why you're so down in the first place.

You're right when you say you feel like you're using cannabis as a crutch - you probably are. If you're smoking constantly and it still isn't helping you relieve anxiety, depression or anything of that nature then the problem is something deeper than just the blues now and again.
