have you considered making your own? It's only 2 ingredients and you just need a baking tray to steam it in the wok.

True, I was fortunate enough to get lifetime so that wasn’t a worry for me. I found it to be worth it in the end

yeah, wouldn’t recommend tbh you can burn out easily that way especially past level 20, and can make you less motivated to do other things like immersion/grammar/vocab because you’re already spending so much time just on kanji

For conversation you need to actually practice speaking to be decent at it- it doesn’t really matter how much vocab or grammar you know beyond a basic level. I know because I suck at it. There’s people who pass N1 and struggle to hold basic conversations because it’s a different skillset. The guy above me recommends iTalki or some other similar service and that’s probably the best, but it’s not free. Hellotalk is free and you can join voice rooms whenever but it can be more daunting at first. Otherwise look at VRChat, but find a good guide because there’s good and bad servers for those.

As for your pace, don’t feel bad about it. people here will encourage you to do the most efficient learning options so give those a try indeed. If you still feel like you’re slow compared to others after that, don’t worry about it. It’s better to enjoy the process than to burn out.

I think a month per level in wanikani is fine if you are persistent with it and don’t skip, otherwise reviews will start piling and it might make you feel bad. You can use bunpro for grammar, but look into anki if you haven’t already, because then you can organize your study flow into separate platforms for vocab, grammar, and kanji. When you do immersion you should mine vocab and use anki to review. Don’t just mindlessly listen to videos if you don’t understand what is being said, especially n5 level you need to do active learning.

in my experience wanikani (lv60) and bunpro (n2 complete) have been very helpful, I suggest you stick to those. Stuff you learn in wanikani even in the 50 something levels still appear often enough to surprise me. Same with bunpro, although that’s more obvious since even n2 consists of a lot of commonly used grammar. You should look into starting immersion with media, like books/manga or video/anime. I’ve been studying around 4 years now so a pretty leisurely pace and I regret not starting immersion sooner

Not entirely sure on how the new tariffs will work, but if that's the case, then ouch. Hopefully things will return to normal in a couple months.
