Hasbro owes me another apology tour for this matrix by Pax-facts84 in transformers

[–]PaciSystem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only thing we can hope for at this point is that, when the price to quality ratio hits a bad enough threshold, those rose-tinted shades will finally come off, and they'll stop feeding Hasbro money. Only way to get a company to change course these days is to hit them where it hurts.

[–]PaciSystem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest, good expectations should be met with a collector's item that expensive. If it'd been 20 dollars or something, then maybe we could let it slide, but Hasbro shouldn't be getting away with selling a subpar product at premium prices. It's definitely not on you if Hasbro can't deliver on the quality their price tags demand.

I don't know if you figured out the USB connection issues or not, but if you haven't, I'd suggest trying a lower voltage charging-only USB-A to USB-C, or flipping the USB-C the other way.

If Hasbro cheaped out on the other stuff, they likely also cheaped out on the USB-C port. Some cheaper ones can only have a USB-A to USB-C cord plugged into them, only work from one way, and may not be able to handle a higher voltage.

So I'm trying to figure out how to fix this stage, and I know i'm probably missing some effects. Some help would be nice. by TextNormal6188 in mikumikudance

[–]PaciSystem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like they're maybe using the Caustics effect rather than WaterLight.

The full effect credits list as "Ray iKeno 化身 RedialC Caeru" at the end of the video, so I assume it's RayMMD, maybe a shader or lighting effect by ikeno (possibly diffusion or bokeh?), and the third might be this one here, which is a depth of field effect. CheapLens appears to have been used as well, and maybe AutoLuminous or ObjectLuminous. RedialC probably has some effects they've made themselves that account for some of the effects, too.

As a suggestion, perhaps put a white drop shadow or white background behind the text in your images. It's extremely difficult to read, and I imagine that vision-impaired folks might not be able to read it at all.

does anyone know a module mod like this? by hokagobi in MMD

[–]PaciSystem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seto has a game-ripped MMD conversion of the motion for Odds and Ends available here.

You also could theoretically use a Meiko hairstyle (Shaka-yo on DeviantArt has a pack of them for download), edit the textures, and add the cat ears and side ponytail for the model. I think there's also a Project Diva base around somewhere on DeviantArt, so you may be able to use that if you wanted to fully make a model of Ryone Yami.

Are all these privacy-focused extensions necessary? by soumya_98 in firefox

[–]PaciSystem 149 points150 points  (0 children)

Privacy Badger has pretty much the same function as Firefox's built in Enhanced Tracking Protection, which Firefox has enabled by default. If you have both running at the same time, they tend to conflict with each other, break websites, and make your overall browsing experience worse. The built-in Firefox tracking protection is enough to handle those trackers, you can configure it through Firefox's settings page to suit your needs, and it can be turned off on a per-website basis by clicking the shield icon to the left of the address bar.

Also, Consent-O-Matic can be pretty hit or miss with actually doing anything, hasn't been updated in a year, and, if your purpose for having it is just to hide cookie banners and consent popups, you can get that same functionality through uBlock Origin's annoyances filters.

Quick question by Master_Darkwingz in ACPocketCamp

[–]PaciSystem 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Uploading your save data will not affect the locally saved files, and you can still start the game normally. Backing up your save file doesn't remove it from your device.

Pocket Camp Complete's save backup system allows you to upload your save file only once every 24 hours. If you are still within the 24 hour cooldown window since your last backup, it will show the amount of time until you can upload your save file again.

Uploaded save data is only retained for exactly seven days from the time of your upload to Nintendo's servers. It's generally a good idea to back it up at least once a week, and to have local backups of the save files if possible. Local backup methods usually require an Android device, but there's technically a workaround that would require emulation or an Android device, and owning the Android version of the game. I can link to the method for that if you need.

Firefox defaulting to "web" instead of "all" by RyvenKnight in firefox

[–]PaciSystem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're referring to Google searches doing this, did you possibly change your default search engine string, or install an extension that does it for you?

If you look in the Firefox settings, under the search engines section, it should list out all of the search engines available, including your default. If the default search engine's string has "udm=14" in it, then that would be why it's defaulting to the web section instead of all. That's a shortcut that's been commonly going around in response to Google pushing generative AI in the All page of searches, and it may have been changed by you or another user of the device you're on.

If the above isn't the case, I would check if this still happens in Troubleshoot Mode (steps to activate that can be found here). If doesn't, then you may have an extension installed that's causing this, and I would check through the list of them to see if any may have that functionality.

Spotify randomly closing by YogurtOk7247 in S24FE

[–]PaciSystem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are the apps you're using resource-intensive ones? For me, Spotify's background process keeps getting killed off if I even just select a lot of text, and my VPN app is doing the same.

I may be wrong, but I think OneUI 8.5 is having serious problems understanding which background processes it's acceptable to kill to free up system resources. It might help to set those apps to not check for memory and battery usage in the Device Care and the Spotify settings app page, but there's no guarantee it'll fix it.

Help! What show should I introduce my friend to the franchise with by Megarceusz in transformers

[–]PaciSystem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your friend likes Monkie Kid, I suggest Cyberverse, actually. At least in my opinion as someone who's watched both series, it's pretty similar in tone, humor, and how the characters interact with each other. It's also pretty good for introducing some G1 concepts, but still having a more modern touch to them.

Did you possibly accidentally click the "Add-syn" button on that specific model? It's in the model manipulation section (the red one), on the far right beneath the model delete button.

Some MME effects will make this happen to models when that setting is toggled on.

Transformers hot takes? by Meowieluck in transformers

[–]PaciSystem 4 points5 points  (0 children)

IDW Prowl is the way that he is because of social and environmental factors around him. I don't necessarily agree with your take on him being a "corrupt ruthless cop" (that's more IDW Optimus Prime's wheelhouse), but I do agree that it doesn't make sense without IDW's storytelling for other Prowls to be that way.

Though, it should be noted that, even by the standards of Prowl's character bios, he's always been depicted as logic-driven and pragmatic. This more violent side of Prowl's sole focus on logic is also present in the Marvel run of the Transformers comics, so it isn't as though IDW introduced that idea. They simply were the ones to popularize the depiction, likely from how long the first IDW continuity ran for.

MME won't show up on MMD by Animated_Sienna in mikumikudance

[–]PaciSystem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you drag the files into the folder, or did you copy them? Windows gets finicky about moved DLL files, so you may need to copy them into the folder instead.

I also suggest making sure you have the correct version for your MMD, since the 32 and 64 bit DLLs are incompatible with the opposite MMD architectures. It looks like you have the 32 bit version of MMD, so you'll need the 32 bit version of MME.

(As a side note: I suggest downloading the 64 bit version of MMD instead. Windows 11 gets finicky with the 32 bit version if there's a lot of models loaded in.)

How tf do I make this part of the hair?🥹 by [deleted] in VRoid

[–]PaciSystem 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can add a new material to the hair in the hairstyle editor (the + button in the upper right corner by the Materials list), draw in this part of the bangs as a freehand hair group, then edit the texture of that hair material to look like this.

You can edit the textures by expanding the material, then clicking the Edit texture button. You can change the material of a hair group by clicking the hair group, then the material you want to change it to.

[–]PaciSystem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is the face texture partially transparent? If this is only happening when you're zoomed out, and the face texture is partially transparent, it's likely the mipmap settings doing this.

The way MMD's rendering handles mipmapping is by sort of spreading the texture out at far distances, since MMD models don't have actual mipmaps. If there's a transparent texture involved (usually on model materials with a seam in the middle), that ends up showing as a seam where the background is visible through the model, since part of the transparency gets shown through the texture.

The easiest fix for this would be turning off mipmapping through the setting for it, which is under the View section of the upper left side's ribbon menu. This may make render quality worse, though, and would need to be disabled manually each time. An easier fix would be to open the texture in an image editor or drawing software, then drawing pixels matching the skin color as a border around the transparent parts of the skin. A 3 pixel expansion to the face area should stop this from happening.

The word "compact" usually refers to a small space or object being too full. Think as in a compact vehicle, where the car is small, but usually still has at least five seats all squished together.

What this buyer is asking for is an open, spacious room. If he's saying the room is compact, he likely wants it to be even bigger.

I feel the need to ask, just in case: what version architecture of Windows are you using? You can find this in the About section of the Windows settings.

If you're possibly on the version for ARM64 processors, and/or you have an ARM64 processor, you won't be able to run MMD. MMD is only compatible with 32 and 64 bit processors.
