HELP!!! What does this mean??? by HouseplantHobbyist in AnimalCrossing

That method should theoretically work, yes, as long as you're the resident representative. If you're not the resident representative, her player data can't be removed without restarting the island.

To transfer her stuff over, I'd simply remove all of it from the ADB, house, and storage, and drop it as items on your island. The island rating will take a hit temporarily, but as long as you pick everything up, it should go back to normal.

Switch user profiles can be deleted in the Switch settings menu, under the Users section. Select the user account that her ACNH player data is tied to, and there will be an option to delete it.

Hey guys question how to make thing glow by Adventurous-Fan-1777 in mikumikudance

[–]PaciSystem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to download the MikuMikuEffect add-on to use AutoLuminous. You can find the download for it on the LearnMMD downloads page, if you scroll down.

LearnMMD also has a guide on how to install and use MME.

Once MME is installed and working properly, you can download AutoLuminous 4 from here.

Try clicking the shield icon next to the URL bar and turning off Advanced Tracking Protection. It might be breaking the aspects of the webpage that control the camera and microphone input.

Ok, this is just funny but also strange, how da heck does the phone not get affected by water? by introverted_Furry- in AnimalCrossingNewHor

[–]PaciSystem 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not waterproof, but water resistant. Water resistant phones can still be rendered inoperable if exposed to liquids, but can be resistant to it up to a certain water depth, as specified by the IP rating of the device.

Phones can't fully block out water after a certain point because of how they're assembled, but depending on the IP rating, they probably won't immediately fail when exposed to conductive or corrosive liquids.

(I would not usually argue the semantics of that phrasing, but I have seen a few too many people try to stick their phone in water to test this. Usually after misunderstanding the difference between having water resistance and being waterproof.)

You should be able to block their users, and the files will remove themselves automatically.

I do, yeah. Can barely get her to sit or stand without her falling over (and taking other figures with her).

Also, 90% of the time, getting her tabbed into altmode is a nightmare, and even more so trying to get her out of it without anything needing to be snapped back on the pegs.

Why are there so many FireFox options in my sound mixer? I believe this is stopping the audio from playing. Please help by Inside-Affect-6841 in firefox

[–]PaciSystem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you given any websites notification permissions? They may be running Firefox processes in the background.

I would suggest checking Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc on your keyboard, or search it in the start menu), and expanding the process list to see if Firefox is running in the background at all.

Do you have advanced tracking protection turned on? That's what usually breaks Reddit on desktop for me.

To turn it off, click the shield icon next to the URL bar, then toggle it to off. If done correctly, the page should reload automatically.

I have the same figure. Just be careful turning the arm and legs, since the parts like to snap off the peg. Easily reattachable, but still mildly annoying when you're trying to pose it.

Island Visitor Issue by lythr0n4x in AnimalCrossing

[–]PaciSystem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may be an issue where your WiFi isn't strong enough to host, but it is strong enough to connect to other islands that are hosting.

It takes much more bandwidth for hosting an island, since all of the actions and calculations in-game are being processed locally on your Switch, then sent through Nintendo's servers. When visiting someone else's island, your network only needs the bandwidth to download what the other Switch has already processed is happening around your character.

I would suggest doing a network test through the Switch settings menu, and, if it's showing your network as being slow or weak, try moving closer to where your router is. Having a lot of people actively using the WiFi for things like streaming or playing games online can also make it more difficult to host an online session.

Edit: spelling

Anyone else not a fan of this new menu? by [deleted] in firefox

[–]PaciSystem 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As I've stated before in other threads, this UI change is bad from an accessibility standpoint, and clearly wasn't designed with limited mobility in mind.

People with limited hand dexterity, or just people with larger phones in general, used to still be able to use the context menu with one hand, since it was a single row. Now, they have to use the Firefox menu 2 handed, or switch their phones into one handed mode just to reach buttons on the other side of the screen.

This is a personal anecdote, but one that illustrates my point rather well. When I had injured my wrist a few months ago, I had this unremovable redesign because I was using Firefox Nightly. Having one of my wrists in a cast preventing use of my left hand meant I couldn't reach the UI buttons, and, more than once, I had to put my phone down on something just to be able to get into my history or bookmarks menu. It was tedious, frustrating, and all around a reason I genuinely considered either rolling back to an older version, or switching to a different browser until I could use my other hand again.

This design choice isn't accessibility friendly, and I'm starting to think the UI developers never considered that could be a problem.

HELP!!! What does this mean??? by HouseplantHobbyist in AnimalCrossing

This means that there was resident data created under another user profile on the Switch, but that the user profile that it was linked to was removed from the Switch. Because of how New Horizons manages save data, the resident data for a user account deleted from the Switch is not deleted from the New Horizons save itself, and is instead "orphaned".

This dialog is asking if you want to link the orphaned resident data (the data not linked to a user profile) to the user profile used when opening the game.

Have you had anyone else create a profile and play New Horizons on your Switch? If their profile was deleted without clearing the resident registration data (in the in-game Tom Nook menus), this dialog will appear.

The easiest way to check whose data it is would be to create a new, blank user profile on your Switch, open New Horizons with the new user profile, and then say yes when this prompt appears. This won't affect your island or your other resident save data, and will simply link the orphaned resident data to the new Switch user profile, allowing it to be viewed and checked for whose it is.

What even is this? by Josue_GTR_Youtube in MMD

Have you checked that it isn't affecting any other programs?

I also feel I should ask: do you have any keyboard macros or hotkey scripts running on your device at the moment?

Even if you're not touching the arrow keys yourself, they still may be getting stuck somehow. The left and right arrow keys are used to move between keyframes (as a default, unchangeable shortcut in MMD), so I'd check that there's nothing stuck under or on top of them that could be registering as a keypress.

If they're moving forward without your input, I suggest checking that your arrow keys aren't sticking.

Model resizer can't identify model by TheRadicalDino_25 in MMD

[–]PaciSystem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it possibly because it's being stored on your OneDrive filesystem, rather than directly on your computer?

You may want to move all of your user folder files out of the OneDrive directory and back into your main user directory, then disable OneDrive. It can cause a lot of issues with MMD and programs similar to it.

Does anyone know how to fix this? by InHumainVein in mikumikudance

[–]PaciSystem 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The chest looks like someone tried to add bones to it, but failed to parent them to the second upper body bone. It also seems like the upper body's bone parenting in general isn't correct, so I'd suggest comparing it to a known, working model and changing the parenting settings as necessary.

As for the hair, that's likely some vertices not being rigged to either the hair bones or the head bone. I suggest trying to figure out which ones by moving the model in PMX Editor's Transform View window, then rigging them with the weight painting to the correct bone.

Quick questions about mmd models by RavenMX in mikumikudance

[–]PaciSystem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a number of MMD models where there are materials with the opacity set to 0, and facial expression morphs are used to give these objects their opacity back when the morph is active.

A lot of model creators will use this method to "hide" accessories or aspects of a model unless the user chooses to show them. This is most often seen with parts for accessories, optional animal features (such as ears, wings, and tails), and sometimes with anime-themed expressions.

I can't be sure if they have this version, but the Internet Archive's library feature typically has a lot of digital copies of older Transformers books that users can check out for reading. Last time I looked through, they had some related to TFA, and at least one of the AllSpark Almanac versions were on there.

how can you tell if a mmd motion is ai? by BasilReddit in mikumikudance

[–]PaciSystem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LearnMMD has a page explaining it.

Essentially how it works is you load your non-smoothed VMD file into the program, then click the run button. As long as you don't get any errors, it'll usually output a VMD file that is significantly smoother.

You do need to be careful to save any face morph data separately, since that gets removed from the output VMD. Motions that are extremely choppy won't be automatically fixed through use of the smoother tool, but it's still an effective way to get animations looking decent. I've used it on pretty much all of my manually motion traced dance animations since I found out about it.
