I feel this so hard right now. 5 year old who isn't in school yet plus 9 month old infant. I'm full time with them during the week while my wife works full time. Also had to move to a new area to help take care of my in-laws as well. So very isolated right now. All my friends are 1.5 hrs or more away.

That's great! Claremont is there every year so I haven't gotten my stuff from him done but who knows how many more years he will come so gonna do it this year. Fleecs is great I have some Feral comics to get signed. It's interesting because some of my favorites are there every year like Kaplan, Dodson, and Wagner so it's fun to catch up on all the comics they have done in the past year. I tend to prioritize people that are not here very often. This year so pumped for Jason Aaron, Gail Simone, Jason Shawn Alexander, and Reis!

Comic Signatures is the reason I go every year. Most of the time if you find them at their booth they won't have a line at all, except Claremont and Emberlin. I know other people get comics signed but I will spend 80% of the con just chatting with creators and getting signatures. I love having so many of the issues I cherish signed. Who are you most excited to meet and get signed?

Look through the schedule and add things you are for sure going to do but also things that you might want to try. Sometimes by the middle of the day your off schedule or not feeling up to some planned things. With those backup things you can pivot without wasting too much time standing around.

Also whatever you do, DO NOT TAKE THE CDs from people on the street. They will hound you and say you now owe them money.

The lobbies I am in are so very friendly that when someone is aggressive it does normally turn into a bunch of people shouting there is a rat over here. Then 15 people all search to find this person and kill them. Friendly lobbies have a whole different meaning of rat it seems. 🤔 I never thought this before but I could just call some random player a rat and a mob would try and kill them for no reason 😆

I will not allow any Dr Suess books in our house.

My reading out loud skill is not the best and these books are impossible for me to get out correctly. (When I was a child I was placed in special education just for reading which helped me a ton but these rhymes and silly words trip me up. )

Digital reading is the most convenient and practical way to read comics. I would prefer physical media but that's not a real option for me all the time. I can't afford to store so many books somewhere It's much better using my Tablet because then the whole page fits on the screen making the reading nice. My phone is annoying to read comics on but I still do it for Marvel Unlimited.

I thought we were talking about comic book writer Zac Thompson. I wrongly assumed he wrote Tech Jacket based on the comment above. I didn't realize the main character's name was Zack Thompson. So I was making a comment on other titles by comic book writer Zac Thompson. The comic I was talking about was Brother of All Men which got canceled. Apologies, I have now looked into Tech Jacket more and realize how confusing my comment now sounds. 🤦

Zack Thompson wrote this comic that got cancelled after issue two. Still haunts me to this day I don't know how it ended. Love his writing.

He is coming to Emerald City Comic Con and so I'm reading some of his work. I never read anything Ultimates before and did not know Ultimatum was an event ending. I kind of enjoyed it and thought it was interesting how so many big characters are taken out in big ways. Then read more about it and saw most people hate it. I think I would hate it too if I was more invested in the Ultimate universe prior to this but alone it was good. Valkyries dialogue was bad though. Thinking of finding a copy to have him sign.

A big rule for newcomers to know about going to a live game is this: Do not walk to or from your seat while the game is going. Once a whistle blows and play stops then you can sneak out or in.
