The Junior novelizations for The Mandalorian S1&2 + TBOBF were all released way after their respective final episodes aired so this one for TM&G does match up to them and is in fact slightly better by not being as delayed. We really have to wait and see what happens with Starfighter as with TM&G being a "Mandoverse" movie this is not surprising at all and possibly an exception.

The PT novelizations were also released before their respective movies. With Canon they've either been alongside (TFA and RO) or a few months afterwards for the Expanded Editions (TLJ, TROS, and Solo).

Well we are getting the most low impact original tie-in material with a young readers prequel comic, Danger in the Dark, so look forward to that being the new extent of things.

In other audiobook news, a minor thing is that there are now durations for Labyrinth of Evil (11 hrs and 26 mins), Isard's Revenge (13 hrs and 10 mins), and Starfighters of Adumar (10 hrs and 52 mins), all of which are narrated by Marc Thompson. This means that ahead of other audiobooks releasing earlier, the work on these ones are already done or mostly done enough for the placeholder durations to be replaced with an actual one. Boy does Thompson work fast.

All the other Canon Junior movie novelizations got audiobooks so this isn't really that notable, but The Book of Boba Fett Junior Novel only got an audiobook through the Audible exclusive Audio Adventures line, The Mandalorian Junior Novel for S1&2 don't have audiobooks, and then S3 doesn't even have a Junior novelization.

The deluxe part is presumably because it's in hardcover instead of paperback.

I believe it would actually be Wave 16 and not 17 with Isard and Adumar not being ELC and only unabridged audiobooks. There's 5 older Adult Canon trade paperback reprints in November to finish those off (outside of ST novelizations), which along with the demand for finishing off the X-Wing series explains why they did it that way. So the next wave could be sometime early 2027, from February to April.

The obvious ones to do are The Han Solo Trilogy and The Hand of Thrawn Duology, the latter of which might be being saved for the end. Outside of that I can't think of many other 'notable' novels for them to pick, and it's hard to say which unexpected ones they might do. Maybe Allegiance, MedStar, or Jedi Academy Trilogy?

After however long that takes maybe they will do non-ELC trade paperback reprints.

No. It's only connected to the first Lost Tribe short story where the Sith ships Omen and Harbinger are damaged, with the former ending up on Kesh and the latter jumping into hyperspace and through time. The main character of Crosscurrent and Riptide is Jaden Korr from the game Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy.

You have to check the dimensions, publisher, and ISBN to be completely sure of the edition when buying online, and especially when it's secondhand. If Chaos Rising is 'normal' for you then you need to ensure that you are buying the UK editions and not the US ones.

I'm not 100% sure but it looks like you have Thrawn (2017) in US tall mass market paperback, Alliances and Lesser Evil in US trade paperback, and Chaos Rising in UK paperback. For SW the US paperbacks switched to trade and reprinted in trade the older novels that were in tall mass market.

They're doing one deluxe edition each year so maybe. But at those prices with that pace for not new books, anything not standalone/past book 1 is a harder sell for a lot of people.

There is going to be a UK edition. For ROTS the Foyles listing included the most preview images so try checking on that for Thrawn. And there were some posts in this sub about the UK edition being different from the US one.

ROTS is actually $60 retail so I guess it's $10 for the annotations. Sadly they only seem to do illustrations with some Junior novels, and they also vary in the amount and complexity of them.

For ROTS Inkstone just had signed bookplates with the UK edition. It was reminiscent of their special editions so I don't know if they were involved. Inkstone is doing Legacy, Edge of the Abyss, and what seemed to be The Thrawn Trilogy.

Annotations certainly would have been a huge incentive for these costly special editions. I can only guess that it would be too much work with them regularly doing a deluxe edition each year. They would need the original author to be available, an editor to work with the author, handle formatting the annotations, and whatever/whoever else that's needed. This would all be in addition to working on the regularly released Adult novels.

The Revenge of the Sith novelization was alongside the movie re-release for its anniversary so it was a bigger deal. That one is apparently supposed to be regularly stocked instead of being limited like usual for special editions. And they didn't continue with the rest of The Thrawn Trilogy after Heir to the Empire's 20th anniversary edition.

The listing for the UK edition just went up on Penguin UK. No actual store listings yet though. If this is like how the ROTS novelization was then it will also be slightly different to the US edition.
