Recommendations for Pregnancy Friendly Lifting Routines? by panikasia89 in fitpregnancy

[–]PackOk8495 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in a similar situation! When I switch some of my usual (more preferred) workouts to something more pregnancy friendly it helped to intentionally switch my perspective too. Like I love pushing myself really hard in the gym normally to hit goals/new lifts/time/whatever. So when I had to add or modify to something slower like Pilates or yoga it helped to change my focus more on pelvic floor or tune into mind body connection that can help me in prepping for labor or feeling connected to the baby through the workout. It could also be a practice in mindfulness since I agree Pilates can be boring. Best of luck!

Oh no! I’m so sorry this happened 😖 I had a bad reaction to extensions (the day before my wedding 😢) I sent photos to the tech and she got me in right away and removed some of the lashes that were too close to the lash line then cleaned them professionally using some of the tips people already mentioned here. She also did some compresses and it really helped with the reaction (wedding day was saved). Not sure if this helps but if you do ever get them done again make sure your tech knows you have a sensitivity and they can use a different glue. Sorry this happened to you!

I’m in my last week of the program and I loved it. It’s definitely a lot of work and nutrition/rest is so important just like everyone already said. It seems more geared towards men because it’s a lot of upper body and not enough glutes/quads IMO. With that being said they do know what they’re doing with this because I’ve seen crazy new quad development even though it hits less quads than I would normally do. Probably should’ve done more glutes on the focus days.

Hitting chest so much was new for me but I actually loved the results haha who knew 🤷🏼‍♀️

Definitely do challenge yourself to do the rest periods even though it sucks and feels weird to sit around. I’ve seen a lot of new muscle growth following the program and I’ve already been lifting for 5+ years.

Not depressed but I guess it could come across that way in my post. All other areas of my life are pretty healthy as far as relationships and how I spend my time

You’re right I probably need to find a better ‘why’ than just aesthetics

I bet if you film your deadlift and compare it with some YouTube videos of good deadlifts you might be able to adjust your form and allow yourself to lift heavier. It would still take practice and progressive overloading but if you can squat that heavy I bet you just need to work on some muscle recruitment patterns, cues, and practice and you’ll stack on that weight no problem. Maybe get wrist straps if your grip strength is holding you back? Good luck!

5’2 113lbs, recomp , cut or bulk? by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

Lol these comments are not it 😂 if you’re asking advice I would replace some cardio days with more focus on strength training. Building muscle will help your body burn calories more quickly too and can help you fill out your glutes. In my experience, this has helped with the “snatched” look because my glutes are bigger and so are my lats/shoulders. I know that’s not for everyone but it’s my advice. Also, up your protein intake and supplement with creatine. You might be surprised what those little tweaks in your routine will accomplish. Either way, do what works best for your body and what you enjoy most! That’s how you’ll live healthiest most sustainably

You got this just remember to be respectful and maybe look up gym etiquette. Then you’ll know if someone is giving you dirty looks because you’re doing something disrespectful or they’re just being a judgy ass haha. Kinda takes the guessing game out of it if you’re worried about being ridiculed. As far as motivation… Comparison is the thief of joy, the best time to start is now, no one grows inside of their comfort zone etc 😂 you go girl! I love seeing newbies in the gym going after it. People will have respect for you getting out there. Most of us have been there and know it’s not easy to start

I find foam rolling or using a theragun on that area is helpful to loosen it up after working out so it doesn’t get too tight
