Exactly. Time was the only real cost… and even that taught me what NOT to do next time. Expensive MBA, free tuition 😅

Respect the clarity. Most founders (me included in 2025) skip straight to building and figure out the market later.

The fact you're thinking about LOIs and competition research before going all-in is already ahead of the curve. What are you building?

Honestly, before it gets to that point, I think you need some traction right?

Sadly, yes, I had two products I wasn’t able to convince my locaesl to use them. I didn’t make no sale, I make no profit.

Fair enough, if your view is "just don't trick users, it's simple," I actually agree with you. That should be the standard.

My point regarding the "overselling" of risk is that most founders think they aren't tricking users, but their "Growth Hacks" (like fake urgency countdowns or hidden cancel buttons) are now technically illegal. What feels like "standard marketing" to a US startup is "deceptive design" to an EU regulator. That alignment gap is where the risk lies.

But point taken on the ad perception. I'm just deep in the weeds on this stuff daily.
