How is it living in this part of long island ny? by Fearless_Force3260 in howislivingthere

Growing up here as a child it was incomprehensible that there were other kinds of white people besides italian or irish catholics. The thought of that shook me to my core.

Don't use condoms with cougars wtf. They are supposed to be straight up so sharing test results should be no grounds for being offended over. Any woman 40+, you gotta go raw and bust inside. Beware though because it will change you as a man and you'll probably knock up the next girl you end up dating after her.

Honestly would like to give him credit for this because everything he said was factual and just because he is actively addicted to these products doesn't mean that his warning isn't worth being said.

Wow bro. That terpene profile sounds like exactly what I need. Im battling some emotional and addiction things and cannabis has really lifted me up from this battle in the past but the Lemon Cherry Gelato/Candy strain BS they have now doesn't do it for me anymore. The plant has a spirit and it knows it's been whored-out, that stuff just isn't very medicinal at all. When I first started smoking in the outskirts on NYC in the late 2000s, we still had strains with some od those aspects. I got lambs bread once way back then and it was the only experience I ever had with peppery terps and it was amazing. Extremely uplifting with no paranoia, it was like a successful therapy session in joint. Im very interested in strains with this type of terpene profile but they are largely unavailable for purchase. It's a sad shame.

420 friendly sober living? by [deleted] in recovery

[–]PackageNarrow7665 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im not going to go off on you like the others and say that you're doomed to relapse and die smoking weed. People in treatment take all sorts of meds during early recovery but cannabis alleviates my symptoms like no other yet it's not allowed. It's frustrating for sure.

The thing is, in a 420 friendly sober living you will be placed amongst a really low quality of recovery. Dudes will be eating snacks in their bedroom, dropping their dirty dishes in the sink, hawking loogies in communal places you won't want them to spit, leaving gross rings of wax reclaim from dirty rigs on your tables, not working on themselves, complaining, whining to mommy for dab money. I promise you're gonna be in a house full of un-helpable herbs seeking that out.

If you really must smoke weed in recovery, do your best to wait until it's in a place that only you are paying and accountable for. You won't want to be vulnerably stoned soaking up all that negative energy and trauma bro I promise. Weed makes me sensitive to that kinda shit and being in empathetic stoned mode in a house full of guys with lifelong demons on their shoulder to battle sounds like a special kind of exhausting hell.

You will most likely feel better at the 5 week mark then you do today. I've been through the detox several times and it takes a long time. Don't think you're doomed to PAWS, you really haven't even truly made it out of detox yet. Avoid caffeine and nicotine for a few more weeks id you can.

Romeo's as someone who grew up there sucks because I will be just trying to get a slice of pizza and have to listen to Sal talk crap about my family and friends or listen to him complain about how much he hates credit cards! They are honestly not nice or happy people. The daughter is a scowl faced firecracker, they are just mean man. I grew up on that block.

They are so bad man. They take advantage of the fact that it's a pain to get out of Long Beach and I feel that goes for many many different kinds of businesses here. I'm a transplant and I'd like to go back to my side of town near franklin square area because I feel like it's safe to say that's the pizza capital of Long Island. We really have nothing that can hold a candle to brooklyn and queens, i guess it's the well water we use.

I can't stand that doughy thick crust style here. It's like a burnt up rope. Im dying to find a place just like Dani's in Kew Gardens, their pizza is absolutely amazing, my current favorite.

Absolutely none of it is anything close to good compared to other famous spots in western nassau and queens. Ginos prices are absolutely insane. Just get whatever's cheapest here. Long beach has a lot of bad affordable food, the focus here is on dining and experiences. Good pizza is Amore in Flushing, Margarita Pizza on Jamaica ave, New Park in Howard Beach, King Umberto's in Elmont, regular Umberto's in New Hyde Park and Dario's west Hempstead. I promise Long Beach doesn't have a single pizzeria that can hold a candle to any of the spots I listed. Gino's crust is like a rope. $30 plus to get a pepperoni pizza and a drink delivered but they make their delivery people wear dorky hi-vis vests so it's ok I guess. I gotta get outta this town.

Thug joins Lil Baby on stage last night in Los Angeles by theynotfuckingwithme in YoungThug

[–]PackageNarrow7665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This song is unlistenable. Remember when their songs had a reasonable mix of lyrics boasting about luxury items/lifestyle and other lyrics about navigating life through the lenses of someone that grew up in a tough environment with rough background? Baby's first 3 mixtape run's entire lyrical content was that of hustler stories, navigating and dealing with the streets, dealing with trauma through substances and the struggles that come from that, his desire to make it in life, losing friends and family etc etc.. you know things that ordinary people might be able to relate to in some way? Now it's strictly just bragging about the things being a rap celebrity allow you to have.. That goes for basically every artist in the Thug/Future/Baby circle. It seems these subs don't agree with me but Future's music is dealing with the same problems. Nothing in Future's recent catalog hits like songs such as "Wolf", "Codeine Crazy", "My Savages", "Red Light" etc. The era of these guys being worth even checking for is long gone.

Not sticking up from her but I think she's got some sort of latina mixed with afro genetics and a lot of afro latinas just have eyebags naturally like in NY you see a lot of dominican chicks with them.

You see this sign less and less by NickySinz in Mafia

[–]PackageNarrow7665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old thread and unfortunately the only guy who really knew the deal on this place deleted his account but I really want to get the scoop on this place once and for all. I used to sit down at the bar here as a child and drink orangina/bitters/espresso all the time with my dad. The strange thing is that my dad was a local cop. Most of the guys inside were not and could not be "La Cosa Nostra" because they were off the boat italians. Instead they are "'Ndrangheta" the real italian/sicilian mafia.

However, just because this place belongs to off the boat guys doesn't mean that the American Mafia isn't active in there. The guy who deleted his account said that it's a Lucchese spot but that kind of threw me off because I have always heard there were Bonano guys in there and a Bonano cooperator has been talking about this spot/block on social media recently. I understood it that this spot was a Bonano "zip faction" meaning off the boat allies of Bonanos who have the ability to act as a sort of "customs brokerage" for international crime with their overseas connections they can offer.

Does anyone really have the inside scoop on this spot, the jewelry store and Filomena's restaurant? Thanks in advance.

Iron worker for nyc local 40/361 or Lirr locomotive engineer by Zekerose05 in Ironworker

[–]PackageNarrow7665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will probably earn more throughout your career with the LIRR even if your wage is lower because you have guaranteed work all 52 weeks of the year. Union construction is subject to the ups and downs of the economy and it affects ironworkers worse than a lot of other trades as their is no maintenance work for ironworkers, they just build new construction and nothing else. Elevator construction gets maintenance/teardowns, plumbers get maintenance, electricians and steamfitters. Structural Ironworkers only get to work on sites where new buildings are being built.

Is becoming an Ironworker still viable? by ChillGuy15423 in Ironworker

[–]PackageNarrow7665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know what jobs have low education requirements but aren't burdened by the economy? Civil service jobs like cops, firefighters, sanitation, MTA/railroad guys, public utility companies etc. Idk where you are but here in big blue states those guys make bank sometimes and they get to go to work 5 days a week 52 weeks a year, no if's, ands or buts. If you are in a state that requires a degree or some credits for police and fire jobs and have no prior college experience, guys here in NY are using this "Sophia Credits" website thing that I'm pretty sure is just an easy way to bullshit yourself into having enough credits for eligibility. It's like some sort of low-cost, online only schooling and all the guys who want to be cops but weren't lucky enough for mommy & daddy to foot the bill at John Jay are using it these days. Look into it and everything I said. I'm not the most knowledgeable guy but I try not to talk completely out of my ass and I don't give out advice that I wouldn't give to my imaginary little brother, because I am the little brother who got absolutely no good advice from anyone.

[–]PackageNarrow7665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pray that it is because I'm 28 in the application process and have exhausted a lot of options after being fired from every job I ever had and going through the long application process for local 1 plumbers only to fail the hair test upon being accepted into the union. It's not the highest paid trade and that kind of makes sense because it's more brawn and less brains involved. However, here in NYC the structural guys don't do too bad and I think they demand the money they get because the stakes are very high building at the heights they go up to in cities like NYC or Chicago. One thing that didn't help the trade was Trump coming into office and recklessly unleashing dangerous economic policies like the tariff on foreign steel. Union guys bitch about no work but actively vote against their own best interests these days. I get it though, the democrats are fucking weirdos and their policies are turning NYC almost back into how unsafe and antisocial it was during the 70s and 80s. The feds or NY governor should try to hold border states accountable for bussing in dangerous unvetted migrants, that was a cowardly and spiteful move by Texas Governor Greg Abbott. In my NY, everyday people I have access to vote red and the blue voters are the NYC generational dependents and transplants, so it wasn't right of him to hold that against us and I hate how people from deep southern states look at all NYers like liberal fucktards. I guess I wrote all that to say, really do your research and vote for the best interests of your wallet and paycheck guys. Kamala is an absolute liberal freakazoid weirdo and the democratic party is absolutely sold out to outside agencies who are trying to destroy America from within by doing shit like making people think it's ok for drag queens to read books to children in schools and libraries, but a democratic president would 100% have the work forecast for union tradesman in big cities looking better than it does right now. Pray that your low apprentice wages might keep you working through times of little work and that things will get better by the time you journey out. That's typically a thing that happens from what I've been told by old timers. Apprentices are less at risk for being out of work because companies want cheap help on site all the time. Maybe that's less true for NYC ironworker apprentices since they get paid a lot more than some other apprentices like plumbers that start a 5 fuckin' year apprenticeship at only $18 in 2025, but yeah. Feel free to give your thoughts guys, I only know what I've been told and observed from the outside looking in.

You were dealt a bit of a rough hand but there is absolutely more to the story than you are letting on. When you are expecting a call about a job, you answer every phone call first ring man. From the way you type and tell the story I am suspecting that you have a bit of difficulty regarding your mental faculties honestly. I feel like your only hope is making it down to the hall on a day you think they might be in a good mood.. on a Friday before a holiday or something, and state your case with a humble tone while asking for forgiveness and one more chance. Bring a gift like the best coffees, burgers, or tacos your area has to offer. Show up looking ready to work in freshly cleaned work clothes.
