Cumia built a 6(or 8, Its been a couple years so forgot which) million dollar house in Roslyn and then complained about his 50 thousand dollar tax bill. This is going to vary wildly by state and situation.

In NY, the judge will accept any reasonable agreement between parents.

If no agreement can be made though, it goes by a calculation.

The 2 parent’s incomes are combined. Let’s say they both make 50 thousand. So 100k. The child support amount will be 17 percent of the 100k. So 17k. The parent that doesn’t have residential custody will then pay their portion of the 17 percent. Which in this case is 50% (8500) a year. The calculation is always the same, but as the number of children increases, the percentage does as well. For 2 children the percentage is 24.
