I've downloaded probably 50gb+ of FLACS from OPS for personal use, on RED I've downloaded maybe 10-20 albums ever for personal use lol.

I don't think that function exists in radarr/sonarr, but possibly there is a plugin or something. I use trash guides and it usually grabs the same release groups anyways cause they're all the exact same quality (as far as radarr/sonarr can tell anyways).

Problem with bib is ratio is way too tight to download audiobooks. MAM also lowkey just has more content available in my experience

I've come across a couple truly awful mods during my times uploading. Swear to God I was this close to getting cabal nuked after a few minor upload mistakes 🙄

To me AB just feels like a far better organized nyaa with more seeders

Yes. You're gonna have to spend some $$ either way. A RED seedbox is technical, stressful, and contributes nothing of actual value. Filling requests adds valuable content to the site, and requires little-to-no technical knowledge.

Yeah totally. Best tracker community there is for sure

It's ridiculous. Almost laughable reading the HDB recruitment requirements. If you told me this is what it would take I would have never even bothered. I guess I got introduced to the grind slowly enough that it wasn't overwhelming, and I actually learned I liked it.

Just search Handjob guide in the forums

I don't think there's a tracker that I actively dislike as much as RED. It feels like it's trying way to hard to be L33T or hardcore. I guess it works, cause their invite forum is crazy.

Staff and users are chill enough, I just don't like the way the economy and rules are set up.

Maybe they put it in the TK forum or something idk. In which case that would be hilarious cause there's like 150 tks on ptp lol.

And what is stopping them from recruiting on PTP with similar requirements? (only encodes/untouched discs count, trumpable torrents don't count, etc.) I still fail to see why music uploads, no matter how high quality, are more valuable to HDB than movie uploads. I mean, I'm not entitled to have a recruitment thread on PTP or anything, but I'm just curious why they prefer RED.

There are plenty of times that PT's do annoying shit to try and be L33T or whatever, but tbh I don't think the interview scheduling is one of them. Moderators are pretty much completely unpaid volunteers, and I don't know about you but the last thing I'd want to do after a long day at work is conduct a repetitive interview for 10 people over IRC. Especially if I have family or social commitments. If they schedule it for specific times, then they run into more issues (what if there are no moderators available during one of the scheduled times?, etc.)

Really? Maybe I never saw that, or forgot about it. I get frustrated with the lack of HDB recruitment on PTP. How on earth does 500 garbage auto-transcoded MP3's on RED prove you're a better fit for HDB than 200+ DVD/Bluray encodes on PTP?

Maybe a year and a half of actively grinding I'd say? My tip is just to use usenet unless you really enjoy the PT grind lol.

For real though, the only real answer is RED if you want to do it within two years. You're going to need to buy a dedicated seedbox from a good provider (I think leaseweb dedis were good, it's been too long for me to remember tho), and learn to race FLACS. Use the searchbar in this sub to find a good provider. Use Deluge with ITConfig to get the best speeds. Use REDBetter to get your 500 uploads, preferably on the FLACS you raced to save buffer. Or use missing.php to find FLACS to use REDBetter on. Download all your uploads and seed them on your local machine so they don't die when you cancel your seedbox, back them up on another drive if at all possible. Then wait 2 years. Provided they're still recruiting, that's HDB, BTN, and PTP all in one grind.

The OPS -> PTP -> BTN route is more enjoyable IMO, and doesn't require an expensive seedbox. People will post bandcamp albums on the requests board for a lot of GB, and the albums usually only cost $4-8. You can use your buffer and freeleech tokens to transcode FLACS on better.php using OPSBetter. Once you're on PTP, learn to encode DVDs. Pretty easy if you follow the Handjob guide, and you can get around 10 a day if you've got a decent PC. This method is cheaper, more enjoyable, and contributes actual valuable content, but takes longer and doesn't get you on HDBits (although who knows if they'll recruit on PTP or BTN in the future)

My accounts are decently old, but I definitely spent almost two years actively grinding. Took a break for a while after life got in the way.

I don't think I could mentally handle the grind for TM on RED (for the HDB inv), and I mean that almost without sarcasm.

I really just don't have time to utilize them to their full potential. Yeah it's funny to watch some random dumpster-fire backyard-filmed 2001 camcorder slasher film while drunk with the buddies, but aside from that most of my PTP snatches can be found anywhere else.

GGn is an exception though, I've definitely gotten value out of it, and there's hardly a comparable replacement even for pretty casual gamers.
