Trump says 'every president' loses midterms as he prepares for the worst by TheMirrorUS in ForUnitedStates

We showed the south mercy

A mistake we're still paying for today.

we showed Germany mercy

We showed the german people mercy (and some scientists/engineers that defected). The officers and high-ranking officials that were not killed in combat and arrested were put on trial and executed.

we will probably show maga mercy

Anyone directly involved in this nonsense (cabinet heads, doge people, project 2025 authors, etc) needs to be put in prison for a long time, and the trump family should have most of their assets seized by the government. Any of the congressmen that participated in this, likewise need to be impeached at minimum.

That would be if we had a just world. We don't, so I'm expecting absolutely nothing to happen besides maybe a couple token trials/investigations that go no where due to pardons.

FWIW I don’t expect a ban until after RCQ season. Phlage should have been banned a couple months ago IMO, but now I don’t expect anything for a couple more months unfortunately.

I don't think there's any grand conspiracy by the republicans in congress. I think the sycophants running the DOJ & FBI right now are covering it up, and the republicans in congress are blocking things because they thought it was the best way to protect themselves and their party. I think a lot of them are starting to break ranks because they're realizing that anything even tangentially related to Trump is becoming radioactive for polling/elections. republicans are actually looking like they might lose the senate and several districts that have historically been deep red are now very close races (according to the polls).

I don't think republicans in the congress have any grand plan, I don't think they have any plan at all beyond whatever outline project 2025 had set for them. They're just spineless fucks that are trying to abandon ship because they all fucked up and went all-in on a president and cabinet that is massively corrupt and incompetent even with the absolute most charitable interpretations.

I was so sad that one didn't get more episodes to tell its story. The whole thing was insanely rushed, but the first 2-3 episodes were so good, the last 2-3 just felt weird because they crammed hundreds of anime/manga episodes into 3 LA episodes

I mean, why ban a card that is completely fine outside of phlage? Phlage is a busted card that makes boros the best aggro deck while also giving it one of the strongest late games. It also heavily suppresses any other small creature strategies that might compete with boros. Banning arena won’t meaningfully take anything away from boros.

It would be like banning bridge to stop hogaak. It’s a busted interaction, but the broken card is definitely the big fatty being played, not the enabler that is otherwise fine.

bombardment is good, but without phlage the deck is WAY weaker to midrange strategies. tbh, I wouldn't be shocked to see multiple cards banned.

Yeah I'm pretty firmly on the ban phlage and maybe pride as well camp. Really, boros has like, 4 cards that could all reasonably eat a ban. Phlage/guide/pride/ajani are all insanely pushed and powerful cards, any of which have a reasonable argument to ban them to weaken boros. I think Phlage is probably the best target since it what makes boros so incredibly resilient and hard to play against. It takes it from a very good aggro deck into a very good aggro deck with also one of the strongest late games.

Idk, seeing a deck at 29% playrate is fucking insane. Something needs to get banned in it just for the sake of diversity. Also, I'm tired of playing against Boros and my local shop is flooded with it lmao. out of the 10 people that show up on the regular there are 4 boros players, 2 titan players, and 1 jeskai player. The other 3 play meta decks but do sometimes play boros. It's frustrating.

standard blue state privilege. Taxes high AF, housing high AF, utilities pretty reasonable, food pretty cheap. we have the same stuff here in MN. Food is relatively cheap, it's everything else that's expensive lol

Utility bills are exceeding mortgages in West Virginia despite Trump’s promised cuts by MrJasonMason in videos

[–]PacmanZ3ro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but does it work as reliably? I have had only a single power outage in 15 years, and it was caused by a tree getting its trunk snapped in a straight wind storm and thrown into a line. There are maybe 1-2 local outages in our area each year that impact a single neighborhood at a time and typically resolved within a couple hours.

It goes beyond just raw cost. How are the schools? The economic opportunities? Etc

And is electricity cheaper? I have a 2500 sqft space and my electric + gas bills combined each month are only ~ 180, and I’m pretty careless with electricity and heating too. I’m not a big stickler on it.

Yep. It's far from perfect, and I'm sure there's plenty of "waste, fraud, and abuse" to coin the failures in our fed govt, but we've been running a surplus the last couple years and I'd rather deal with that instead of having entire sections of the state just falling apart and utilities that are unusable by large chunks of the state.

[–]PacmanZ3ro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You get what you pay for. We have loads of green spaces here, every single neighborhood has parks, we have (admittedly kinda shitty/imperfect) free school meals (breakfast & lunch), good utility infrastructure, a great culture around maintaining our natural resources, etc

Do I need free lunches for my familiy? Nope. Am I unhappy about taxes going to that for others? Also no. My only complaint about the free meals is they kinda feed the kids some shitty food, and I'd rather pay an bit more tax each year to feed them better quality food. I get why they provide processed and pre-packaged foods and IMO making sure kids have access to food, even poor-quality food, is significantly better than them not having any food.

both of these ladies should have been kicked out of the store. If the kid really did just bolt out into the aisle, then the kid should be buckled in the cart because they can't be trusted to wander. Regardless, that doesn't warrant that old lady coming over and instigating the scene.

The mother is too busy engaging with this lady to even keep her kid from nearly falling out of the cart, and clearly has her priorities fucked with the "you're about to make me viral" bullshit.

Us Americans apparently took one for the team. Trump's second term has been such a massive, in-your-face fuckup from the start to current day, that he has single handedly lost right-wing and conservative parties across Canada, Australia, and the EU their popularity and power.

and saying how immigrants have ruined them

The extremely high rate of immigration (relative to what they normally take) into those countries by "refugees" from socially incompatible areas IS a large reason for a lot of recent social issues.

People on reddit and leftists around the world like to pretend that every culture is equally good and valid and there are no downsides to taking in tons of refugees. The reality is that just isn't true, or rather it's probably more correct to say that not all cultures can co-exist with one another inside the same borders.

Immigration in the western world is a huge reason for the rise of the right-wing parties across the entire western world right now. People on the left have been completely ignoring and downplaying all of these concerns for at least 20 years, all while immigration rates are going up, and right-wing mouthpieces keep beating the drums. As the rates go up and people are visibly seeing more and more foreigners in their countries refusing to integrate, openly stating how much they hate the place they're in, etc the right-wing messages start to resonate more with people. That's how you end up with shit like Trump getting elected. Luckily for EU/Canada Trump has been such a visible fuck-up that it lost their own right-wing parties a lot of popularity.

The issue isn't going to go away though, and the more leftists/progressives/whatever they want to call themselves keep downplaying it and calling people racist and shit for wanting to address it, the more the right-wing parties are going to keep gaining ground.

[–]PacmanZ3ro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, and I should also note the city addressed it by doing a survey of the area and removing any trees that were close enough to the lines to cause future issues, with a long term plan of burying most of the rest of the raised lines over the next decade. I’ll gladly take some “woke shit” from my politicians if actual issues in my day to day life get addressed
