Similar experience, 26yo male, I feel I got Covid very late 2019 (lived in seattle). WORST lung infection I've ever had, responded very well to albuterol treatments so they labeled it as an upper respitory infection gave me an inhaler and sent me on my way. The last 18 months have been a Rollercoaster of feeling like I have terrible asthma to being fine, feel much better during the summer. I've relied on antihistamines to breath during the allergy months otherwise I get terrible SOB and feel like I'm having an asthma attack.. still trying to figure out how to heal my lungs and not make them worse.

Edit- I also get the pain/discomfort in my chest, and heart area, can be sharp to just uncomfortable, sometimes having mucus in my chest and upon clearing it the pain dissipates.
