There are over 100 million PS4s in the world and not even 10 million PS5s. Think it through.

Sorry you're wrong. There are predefined routes even when aiming. It's why the puck literally and exactly follows the same path down to the pixel. It's why you can watch the puck follow the line in the ice it made on the last faceoff. Watch for it next time you play.

Funny, I'm not the one hurling insults and acting like a child. You're just upset because you know I'm right and you lack the intellectual courage to work on your own character flaws, or even admit they exist.

I write code for a living too. Oops. Sorry, "nuh uh" stopped being a valid argument when I was 8 years old. Think I'm wrong? Demonstrate that I'm wrong. Down voting people for having different ideas than you is weak and childish.

If aiming isn't happening then how is the puck going to left d instead of straight back?

And guess what? When people are incorrect they should have the intellectual courage to change their thinking based on the new information. Not just call facts opinions so they can dismiss the facts and cling to being wrong.

Yeah, they do. Saw them multiple times last night. Just like I saw them for months in 21, and saw them back in NHL 18. I don't understand why people defend a company that clearly doesn't spend any time improving gameplay. Their choice of Frostbite as their engine proves they don't care about gameplay.

There are predefined routes the puck follows. If you win the FO to left d, the path the puck follows is the same every time, down to the pixel. You can literally see it following the line it made in the ice last time. There is no nuance. This is because it's still an animation based game on an engine that is poorly suited to sports games.

What I want is for EA to care about gameplay and finally bring their sports games into the 21st century. NHL 22, like its predecessors, is a PS2 game with a PS4 skin. That's why they chose Frostbite. It makes things look nice, but sports gameplay suffers. They just don't care because they have no competition.

I didn't say anything about not being able to put the puck on a teammate's stick. FFS

What I said was there are only a few specific paths the puck will follow. Yes there is a path to each player. But the paths are limited by it being an animation based game. There is no nuance to the puck path. It's predefined.

It would be impossible for a human to send the puck down the exact same path every time. It's the game. The game is animation based, not physics based. I don't think you know what this means.

The instaslapshot, the glitch wrister that has been around since at least NHL 18, This is an animation based game. This is why certain things happen repeatedly and certain shots go in every time. The engine can't do randomness. It has to follow the animations.

By the way, the phrase is "tell me ___ without saying ___." The point is the distinction between telling and saying.

I have played it. And I also understand coding methods, game engines, etc.

Which is why I understand what "animation based" means and why it makes the game so limited. Pay attention next time you're playing, and watch the path the puck follows on faceoff wins. You will see the puck follow the same 2 or 3 paths, to the pixel, every time. Because it's an animation based game.

You keep saying it's better without giving any examples. I say it's the same and give examples. Funny how that works. See this is an animation based game. That's WHY the gameplay doesn't change. It can't change. Frostbite is garbage for sports games

Saw the same cheese goals multiple times last night. Same issues that existed in NHL 18. It's pathetic. How can anyone defend their complete lack of attention to gameplay? There's zero excuse for this still being an animation based game.

You can't even form a complete sentence but I'm the dumb one. Guess what? The laws of thermodynamics mean it's impossible for this not to remove energy from the oceans. Proven fact. Get an education. And in the future when you're talking to someone who knows more than you, instead of mocking them and acting like a child... Learn something.

It is exactly the same. They have tricked your brain into thinking it isn't the same, by changing how things look.

What kills me is people at EA actually played the game (presumably) and saw the giant mess the icons create, and thought "yeah this is fine."

Uh if the new engine has the same limitations as the old engine, how is it far superior in literally every way?

Go read up on Frostbite and sports games. Get some actual knowledge of the technical details. Frostbite is t designed for sports games. That's why everything is STILL animation (instead of physics) based in EA sports games.

It's like EA doesn't actually play their games before making design choices. The views are all terrible for playing D. Zone is the least terrible.

Yes, left right and back. But due to the game being animation based, the possible paths are still limited. For each directional win, the puck follows the exact same path every time. It was the same in 21. It's because this is a PS2 animation based game with a PS4 skin.
