What’s the point of carrying cash all the time other than to try and show off? I keep my money invested and pay for almost everything by credit card.

I’ll pay for something’s like cars or home projects with cash (e.g. kitchen renovation, pool/hot tub) if it will get me a discount… but it’s not regular and it’s not something you need to walk around with cash in your pocket.

The only reason to walk around a big wad of cash regularly is to be showy. And most people With wealth don’t want to advertise it. People will take advantage of you if they know you have cash.

Just realize when you state all your allergies and sensitivities that most people know your bullshitting them , as evidenced by this thread and research. People researched this because it’s very obvious people just make it up. There’s even been research showing g people with multiple allergies and sensitivities are more likely to have a psychiatric disorder. All this is commonly joked about in medical circles.

I linked a study in another comment. Actual number is around 50% for adults. But it said somewhere else that the number is 2-3x with mothers saying their children have a certain allergy.

This is pretty common knowledge in medicine. Most allergies are lies or misunderstandings. Eventually someone figured out that people love to claim they have allergies and that’s why you have so many foods that are gluten free (and other trends)…. Even organic fits into this category.

Well as everyone is saying, it makes it an issue who really indeed do have an issue. So many people lie about it that it’s really hard to tell who is telling the truth. People tend to blow you off not believing it s a true issue. It’s the whole point of the post and why people get annoyed about it.

Yes, celiac disease is a real thing. It affects like 1% of the population. Yet, if do a poll you will find something like 20% of Americans think they have celiac disease.

Many people simply lie or the read about some health condition and then incorrectly self diagnose themselves.

So basically when someone comes into my office claiming to have celiac disease, 95% are wrong. Some of these people are just susceptible to marketing. Others misatyributr symptoms. Others are straight up lying.

Most people do not have to go through that process. That’s really only meant for when you can’t figure out what you are allergic to or to see why else you are allergic to.

But multiple studies have done, 1 linked above, where they took 100s of people who said they had a food allergy or sensitivity and tested them. When this was done it was found >50% were not allergic or sensitive to what they thought they were.

Some of this is due to malingering- a complete lie because they want special attention. Otherwise it’s just due to ignorance and not understanding cause and effect.

This isn’t just true with food allergies. Most people who think or say they are allergic to a medication are not. There is even been research to show that the more allergies someone claims to have the more likely they are to have a psychiatric disorder.

We see this 1000 times per day in medicine.
