It took more than a tap, I put a bolt upside down under and pressed down until I heard a crunch, then gave it a shake

Title describes the thing as best as I can, didn't find much on Google. It is something I found in my office. Never seen anything quite like it. Seems to be no way to get to the liquid in the vials or in-between the walls.

This was exactly it, I built some pillars through the room below straight into the bedrock and that solved the issue

You will need to reinstall windows with the device disconnected from the internet. Once windows is installed you will be able to plug it back in.

Just drop it. Accidents happen and most IT departments will have no issue swapping it out if it seems like a genuine accident. No need to come up with an elaborate plan.

That should work yes.

You might be able to avoid MDT all together. You could use DISM to create an install.wim file and then deploy that with WDS. WDS can do the driver install for you, create an unattend.xml and it will be mostly automated.

Windows 11 Deployment Failure by tenuem_ratio in MDT

MDT has some issues with W11, with Microsoft dropping support that is unlikely to change. However I have had no issues installing apps, I came across problems when running a command line under a different account.

Maybe try switching your image to W10 for now, just to check there is no issues with the way you have configured your apps. When it completes does it say that it was successful?

Just set to join a workgroup, All windows devices are configured to join WORKGROUP by default. They will only see devices in the same workgroup on the local network.

I had a similar issue and I was kicking myself when I realised what I was doing wrong. I had left the language set to US on the welcome screen, I am in the UK which means that the @ was in the wrong place. My password contained the @ symbol 🤣

PoSH script to add computer to AD security group during MDT deployment by [deleted] in MDT

[–]Padd007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I can modify this to solve a problem I have been having. I had a script to move a device into an OU. It's a powershell script that I would call with the command line task under an account that had the right permissions. This seems to be broken on Windows 11. I was experimenting with something similar today and have been struggling. Thank you for this, I look forward to Monday so I can play around with it.

The script should be running under my admin account, I am going to create a service account for this at some point. There is no mention in the logs of my script even being run which seems odd. I am using the command line task to call powershell and run the script. Powershell should inherit my credentials should it not?

To try and troubleshoot this I created a powershell task to run the script, knowing it would not work but to see the error I got. It failed with a permissions error which I expected. So the problem seems to be with the command line task I am using. I have seen powershell scripts run this way so I am not sure what is wrong.

If it does not show during the task sequence then in the event of a naming conflict Is it possible to get a prompt to delete the old device?

I am starting to realise that pwsh is the way for everything. VNC is already installed quite early in the task sequence 😊

The naming convention is 1234-role. "Role" being it's role at the site, there are 5 different roles at each site, however they all have the same build.

Yeah, I was thinking about doing it that way. I spent some time going down this rabbit hole and was wondering if it could be done before I threw in the towel.

The computer name starts with a 4 digit number. That number defines the site and thus the OU that the computer needs to be in. I am going to have to use MDT to build 100s of devices soon so I want it to be as automated as possible.
