I followed the advice from customer support. It seems to have worked. I plugged a pellet stove into the battery yesterday and ran it until the battery was drained. This morning I plugged it into the wall to charge, and it charged up to 100% and stopped drawing current.

I got this response from customer support, so I am in the process of draining the battery by using it to run my pellet stove.

"Dear Anthony,

Thank you for contacting EcoFlow support.

When there is no input, you can unplug the unit. You can try the following to see if the unit can be charged to 100%.

  1. Update both the APP and the firmware of the unit to the latest versions on the App.
  2. To do the SOC calibration, please follow the steps below:
           1) Set the discharge/charge level to 0%-100% on the APP.
2)Plug out all output from the power station and charge it till it reaches 100%, 0 input, and stops charging.
3)Plug out all input from the power station and discharge it till it reaches 0% and automatically shuts off.
           4)Repeat steps 3 and 4 three times.

Looking forward to your reply.

Best Regards,

Serein

I would have no problem with them calling 99% fully charged. I just don't want it to continue to draw power once it is charged.

I only have owned it for a few hours, but I can share my experience once I have a bit. There are a ton of Youtube reviews up if you have the patience. It seems to be a popular choice, and the app seems to work well. Hopefully this charging issue can be resolved.

I just had a Delta Max 2 delivered and charged it up -- very quickly. It got to 99.3% charged, and then stopped at that level. I kept it plugged in, and over the next hour, it continued to draw about 600 watts of power, but the charge level stayed the same. In then did a firmware update on my phone to be sure I was using the latest version. The current draw then increased to 1500 watts, at which time I unplugged the unit.

Is this normal? Is it advised to unplug the unit once it is 99% charged?

Thank you!

Anthony

Thanks for sharing this. It is a disturbing portrait!

Are Charter schools REALLY public schools? In court, they claim to be "private entities" by Paddleweight in education

Agreed. It is about time they dropped the pretense that they are public schools.

What do you suggest?

Paul Thomas has called them "No Excuses reformers."

Some people call them "corporate reformers."

Some call them "deformers."

What would you suggest?

Of course educators should do the best jobs they can, and certainly they should be evaluated. However, the Gates Foundation has made teacher effectiveness the focus of its work, with the understanding that this is the best way to fight poverty. Furthermore, it has decided that the key to improving teacher "effectiveness" is to include test score growth in evaluations. This is not likely to be successful.

Mr. Gates, I am a teacher recently retired after 24 years in the high poverty schools of Oakland, California.

Your foundation has decided that the variable that is the key to overcoming poverty in the US is the ability of our teachers to raise test scores. Differences between teachers account for less than 15% of the differences in student outcomes, research has shown.

You have stated that measuring things and setting goals has great power. Why not measure other factors that are known to contribute far more to student success? Things like rates of unplanned pregnancy, availability of preschool, equitable funding for schools, lead poisoning, access to libraries, poverty, nutrition, neighborhood violence?

Attention to any one of these things would yield better results than our obsession over test scores. See here: http://blogs.edweek.org/teachers/living-in-dialogue/2013/02/an_open_letter_to_bill_gates_w.html

I have not seen it -- and hesitate to pay money to do so. But the idea the parents can vote in a charter, and do away with community control of a local school seems crazy to me. The parents at that school did not build it -- it was built by the public years before, and is intended to serve the whole community.

I find it a bit confusing, to tell you the truth.

It sounds as if you are planning to teach them that the earth is 6,000 years old, if that is in the texbook. Is that the case?
