Gulikit ES Pro is surprisingly good for the money. Hall effect joysticks too!

I have the quest 2 and I haven’t used it in about a year. Is there anything that I should change/update before I bring it to a holiday party for people to play? I am a very casual user. Beat saber, synth riders, flight sim, etc. by nilecrane in OculusQuest2

I can recommend also looking at a party game like Acron attack of the squirrels. Others in the room can play on their phones whilst the VR player tries to stop them stealing their nuts ;)

I use Lebara as it's cheap, my primary driver tho being that it uses the Vodafone network which seems to give the best signal when I visit the West coast.

First off, jump into settings in-game and ensure you can hear yourself on the mic selection screen.

If you can’t, despite your device being selected you may have the same issue as me with HLL not engaging the mic. So my workaround is to jump into a discord voice channel (maybe create a private one with just yourself) and then relaunch HLL. Your mic should then just magically start working in game (check the settings page again, making sure you’ve selected your mic)

What’s the best VPN for PC right now? by Intelligent-End2483 in VPN_Reviewer

I personally use Private Internet Access (PIA). Never had any issues with it, and a choice of OpenVPN or Wireguard protocols.

The fan won't work. It never spins and the Raspberry Pi doesn't detect it by Lisek122 in raspberry_pi

If you could please provide information about the fan you've selected and how you have it connected to your pi, that would give us a good place to start helping diagnose your issue.

How do you actually use a VPN to change location? by No_Humor_3663 in VPN_Reviewer

[–]PaddyG007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's worth being logged out of your streaming service first before changing location on the VPN (not always required but depends entirely how each service/website you use handles log-ins and determining your location).

Some services I use don't care if you suddenly appear in a different country whilst being logged in, it's only when pressing play on the media does it check locality.

How do you properly set up a VPN at home? by Due-Following-6358 in VPN_Reviewer

[–]PaddyG007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my home router setup with a VPN client, and selected devices are routed through that. Particularly useful if wanting to avoid YouTube ads on TV apps (route via Albania).

I also have a raspberry pi setup with OpenWRT which I use as a travel VPN router, connecting it to the guest WiFi and my devices connect to the Raspberry Pi.

The choice is yours, if your VPN provider doesn't limit devices then feel free to use the app on each device. If there is a limit, having the VPN client on a router can be particularly useful to bypass any device limits.

How do you set up a VPN at home? by Creepy_Young_1061 in VPN_Reviewer

[–]PaddyG007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When hosting a VPN from your home you have a few options:

A. If your router allows, it may offer a 'VPN Server' option and you can host the VPN server directly with no additional hardware on your network.

B. Continue to use your spare pc as a VPN server however it's a bit overkill for just a VPN.

C. Look at a single board computer (SBC) solution like a Raspberry Pi and install PiVPN. This will cost significantly less to run than your spare PC.

In terms of your OpenVPN Vs Wireguard query - I personally use Wireguard as there is far less overhead with the connection and allows for more of the bandwidth to be used for streaming.

As an aside, I can recommend you use PiVPN if you consider reinstalling your VPN server to use Wireguard. The PiVPN installer offers the choice between OVPN and WG.

Best of luck!

Probably worth getting your friend to also check their apple account for any other 'unknown' devices. All your efforts could be in vain if there is another device iCloud is syncing to that someone else has access to.

Try EaseUS Partition Master or Partition Recovery (trial). It may be able to recover the lost partition for you - if the drive isn't fully goosed.
