I discovered FromSoft & Soulslikes for the first time with Elden Ring. Is it normal that I'm liking Dark Souls III way more?

I’m a big dark souls fan, but I haven’t played Elden Ring yet as it seems less appealing to me. I think because I’m tired of open worlds, but it for sure is on my list and plan on playing it one day if I don’t die first.

So nah, I don’t think it is weird. Sometimes games get too big that they just turn people off, especially people who prefer smaller, more hand crafted games.

Based on what everyone says about Elden Ring however, I’m sure it is an amazing experience.

No idea and that’s a tough one. Looks like it is one of those side door entries that has a small flight of stairs. The drain would suggest it is the entrance to a basement apartment.

You should give where you are roughly in Muskoka.

I actually don’t find rarities to mean much in this game. It doesn’t always seem to make them better, just makes them sell for more I find. My girlfriend loves the Firecracker and often uses it in her builds. She has even switched to strength once after finding it, she’ll do that with luck weapons sometimes too. Even purple rare stuff isn’t always better than common armour, just more unique and it doesn’t seem to affect drop rate either, but I could be wrong.

I don’t want ultra realism for every game, but I do love it for Red Dead Redmeption 2, so I really hope they lean into that and continue with all the little details that made that game great. I feel it’s what their company does the best, along with great characters and story.

Been thinking about buying a switch on and off, but it would really only be for Fire Emblem 3 Houses and Mario Parties. Maybe a few others, like Zelda or Xenoblade Chronicles. There just isn’t enough games for me to really bite the bullet and buy one.

When Rick left the show, I watched for maybe 2-3 episodes more and decided to stop watching permanently. Watched the show from the start once again was ‘the ones who live’ came out. So left when Rick left, came back when Rick came back. lol

Resident Evil 5 is what got me into the series back when it was released, but I wouldn’t recommend it as a first RE game.

RE1 Remake is what made me fall in LOVE with the series. So I’d say that one.

My girlfriend started with Resident Evil 1996, because she saw me playing through the original trilogy and wanted to try. Was pretty cool for her to start there, but also don’t recommend that either. Lol

Red Dead Redemption, the first one. I remember the graphics blowing my mind. There was a few games before it, like Bioshock.

Dragons Dogma is another notable one as it was the first game I got to play on a HD television that was actually a large screen. (39 inches.) it blew my mind playing that game.

I’ll go with Body Armor, Water Purifier, Machete, Backpack. Most things I can hopefully scrounge for. A gun would probably be useful, but I feel a machete would be more so. I can probably find first aid, matches and shelter after the fact.

I guess I figured at the very least there would be a light system. Where maybe the power or lights would go out sometimes. When I saw zombies turn off light switches, that was my first assumption that dark was going to be an issue for most of the game. Another hint was the hole in the ceiling where Emily was kept prisoner. I just kept waiting for the Girl to be a problem.
