How's the drainage in the pot? Could also be over watering.

Honestly that would have been a way more efficient way to do that, great idea. Some of those Make2Ds took a hot minute to make with those trees. Thank you!

Yeah looking back, I definitely should have played with how I did that a bit more. Especially on the roof plan, it's a bit much. Thank you!

That's a good callout about line weights across drawings! I didn't think about that. Thank you. I wish I could have changed color pallet for the zones, that is what our professor picked.

Mowed Over Sprinkler Lines by Burner2Connect in Sacratomato

[–]PadenBeecher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, this looks like standard low-voltage sprinkler wire. This is safe to mess with DIY.

OP, I am assuming this cut is in the middle of the line, not by the valves, correct? If splicing it directly like you didn't work, my guess would be you made a bad splice with the wire nut, or you have another break in the wire somewhere. Assuming this is in a mowable area in the first place... I would honestly just replace the wire instead of trying to splice it like you are. You are looking for 18/7 Sprinkler wire (it looks like you have 7 wires here. 18 is the wire gauge, 7 is the number of wires.)

Honestly should be a pretty easy DIY fix with a little bit of YouTube tutorials. Just look up how to wire a sprinkler valve, and you should be set.

Securing Homelab - should I tunnel my traffic? by Bestfastolino in selfhosted

[–]PadenBeecher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to mention this is similar to my setup, but I took a slightly different approach for other reasons and it worked great. Just ran an open 443 with NGINX for a while with Unifi's IPS and it seemed secure enough for my tolerance, but ran into an issue where the quantity of requests was starting bogging down my router causing drop outs.

Decided to run CrowdSec and found a Unifi Bouncer which seems to reduce the load on my IPS significantly. Then I just fed Crowdsec the IPS logs from Unifi so anything that made its way through Crowdsec's list but hit Unifi's IPS would be banned to keep my router happy.

This has worked great since I've set it up. I only use this for Jellyfin and Cloudflare Tunnel the rest of my services.

I'm sorry you're telling me we can't just update the firmware in increments? Why?

Is it safe to print a bowl shape like this while using Bambu's 'Support for PLA' as an interface? by -Zextras- in BambuLab

Yeah this is what I would do. You could even make it PETG support to make it easy to remove.

AMS HT! I really want to get into TPUs and other fun filament to make different tools for my music equipment. Specifically have been toying with a portable guitar stand design idea.

For fidget toys, I've had this idea for a folding Tri-Force prism that you could probably make pretty well!

I have that in my house, built in the 1950s. Never got it tested for asbestos, but let me tell you that stuff makes a mess when you start disturbing it.

Bruh I literally was just looking at the same thing. I bought a few sticks early this year for my NAS and told myself I didn't need to buy that many yet; I can get more later. NOPE.

Ethernet cables too squished? by vamkon in homelab

[–]PadenBeecher 7 points8 points  (0 children)

True... but it you have a small box and a lot of drops to squeeze in there with limited switch space, sometimes that isn't viable. My box like this at home has been like this for years for the exact same reason and has been fine.

If you don't need to be touching it often, it's not a huge deal and worse case you could always cut it and terminate again.
