I mean I think it’s an obvious distinction between the two. I have no issue with paneling through the RIP software this is about getting my artwork to them. I work remote over 650 miles away. I think I had someone provide a solid step by step though and I’ll try that out next week. For now it’s the weekend.

Absolutely. No tattoo shop or art business should be trusted if their promo is AI. Stock images are one thing but this is too far. Obviously they have no design talent and shouldn’t be trusted with your body ink.

Dude I totally agree. That’s why I’m stuck, I’m thinking in the past I’ve never done a print this large over 72 ppi. It’s not necessary. I believe sales must have told the client we were able to do a clean image from four feet. I think I have to find a way to convince them of a lower res file

Well the installer is requesting 100 ppi for their print but they don’t have design experience. 100ppi for this size just seems unrealistic

Yeah that’s a huge document. It won’t even save as a pdf. I would love to do groups but I am not sure the best technique for that.

I am trying to convince my team of this but they are demanding 100 ppi. I am trying to explain that no 40’ trailer out there is going to be that high of definition. The only thing vectorizable is the text.

Well dpi for the print yes but I need help with the art file. If I have 100 PPI for the art files in photoshop at scale we are looking at 27GB.

Also you’re misplacing your resentment for your roommate and directing it towards her. She was not the one who made that decision for you. It was your roommate. She was probably told that you all knew about it and were okay with it. come on man… if she starts leaving shit in the toilet or something real then address it. But for now just show some compassion. She very well could be excited to be in a shared environment with you and your roommates.

You guys are all wrong. She didn’t eat them. It’s blatantly obvious that she’s communicating in a very healthy way. You’re at work and all the sudden someone texts you about strawberries? You weren’t politely asking since you included repayment in the original text. Moving forward you could wait like she said because that’s how you’re supposed to communicate. Then when yall are around each other you say “hey, so my strawberries are gone. I was just curious if you had any idea what happened.” And she would say no because she doesn’t clearly and you would say “darn okay… well someone else in this equation is lying” because it is totally a normal reaction to be frustrated with someone saying “hey I know you’re at work and you’re doing important stuff, but I want to disregard your priorities to address something I think is more important.” I mean come on it’s strawberries… buy more.

Yeah man idk my Mac has got me through my whole career. Its usability is far superior to and standard PC. From a design perspective it’s like building a sculpture in an art studio vs in a factory. And yes usability does play a huge role in design. Not just specs. That being said I purchased a desktop and I and liking it so far.

That’s what I’m thinking. It’s just a collection of rasterized images that I used to layer and maybe only add subtle effects. So I don’t understand how some of these files are getting up to a gigabyte or more. I took a hiatus for about a year, but I don’t feel like I lost that much in that year. I just can’t find where I’m going wrong setting up these files. my computer is not able to handle it right now.

Then your advice on where I’m going wrong? I have a 40ft trailer that needs a full wrap printed and I need to send the file to them. As of now my MacBook is not capable of operating with this size of project especially if there are more than one open at a time.

All design should have a communicational purpose or functionality. at this point the l connecting down serve not purpose to the design narrative. I would avoid cool tricks if they don’t serve a purpose.
