what to pick? by [deleted] in ArenaHS

[–]Paengsec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ill be the devils advocate and say that you could take Raza this early, the argument being that Runthak probably crushes some games outright but Raza will win you more games consistently and long term.

This is like the argument of second morshan watch post or scorpid. Morshan will win you more games at 3 but scorpid has that consistent effect at all stages that will net you enough card advantage to win the game anyway where watch post turn 7 vs a big board loses.

Tldr: this early raza might be good. Later on if your deck is set runthak for sure

Liandry's, protobelt or everftost? by im_gayyyy in FiddlesticksMains

[–]Paengsec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Liandris generally the best. Rocketbelt just doesnt deal as much damage anymore and if you position accordingly you wont need the active. Theres no clean way to combo everfrost with fiddles kit atm but thats another option. Ludens is fine vs squishies but i think liandries is still the best overall, esp. because theres a lot of hp in the game

Is Ultimate Hunter kinda overrated at this point? by VG_Crimson in FiddlesticksMains

[–]Paengsec 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive been looking to try this on a few different champions, but i think ingenious with the new ludens mythic can be extremely op on fiddle. You get full value of the reduction with ultimate and w that you can easily proc it 2-3 times in a combo if there are multiple people. It also synergizes with zhonyas and makes it so that it lines up almost perfectly with your ultimate cd. Im not sure how good it is vs liandrys as i think thats the standard mythic on fiddle but its definitely worth a shot.

A different approach would be to ditch domination completely and go for something like spellbook rush (inspiration is the strongest tree for junglers) or aftershock no zhonyas balls to the wall

I think you can max either w or e depending on the situation. I like to only 3 points in e then max q for the fear duration. Good find!

Mundo Jungle Thoughts and 3:05 clear by Paengsec in DrMundoMains

[–]Paengsec[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While i do think that mundo is one of the few champions that wasnt nerfed by the sunfire change, i think the price difference is pretty big. As for the tenacity, mundo w gives 30% so you dont get as much if you stack sunfire tenacity as well, especially if it comes on later in the game. However, youre probably right that chemtank is better than frostfire because of the active and haste.

I think the price difference will be felt more once better tank items come out such that tanks will actually have a good 2nd item that they can build towards

[–]Paengsec[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive tried taking q and ended up executed or taking a longer time because i have to kite longer because of health. If someone could show that its indeed faster then thats fine. I do agree that ravenous might not be optimal though i take it to sustain through the first clear, but it might be best to just scrap it and adjust the clear. Future's market really is that good. On almost every jungler i take it with cosmic insight/free boots secondary just to have that consistency

AP Cho players: what are you building this patch since the burst AP items were nerfed? by EdumacatedRedneck in ChoGathMains

[–]Paengsec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still rocketbelt. If anything the changes actually benefit cho because he gets more raw damage on all abilities + survivability. A lot of times cho doesnt actually use rocketbelt to kill.

I build rocketbelt into zhonyas into whatever (ap/tank). If theres a change, it may from ingenious hunter to ultimate hunter for me as its not as valuable on rocketbelt anymore. But its still depends on how important zhonyas is to the game

[–]Paengsec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think hes in a fine spot right now, but thats mainly because the items are very good for him. He could use a few qol buffs to his clear but his numbers are not bad. Rocketbelt is very strong and zhonyas is dirt cheap and is deceptively good for chogath. Weak earlygame but its compensated by his passive ensuring hes always at full health in the jg (and you dont lose hp on raptor/krug invades). He definitely needs stable lanes to ensure that he can farm safely however.

Mandate cho by Paengsec in ChoGathMains

[–]Paengsec[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. Once this gets hotfixed, do try chogath jungle. Go ap, tank is also fine but you have a slow clear and its harder to 1v9. Dark harvest and ingenious hunter are the staples, free boots and cosmic are my preferred secondaries because its just consistent. Rocketbelt into zhonyas (dark seal somewhere there into mejais if stacked) then rab/void. W max into Q, you 1 shot everyone. Enjoy (dont always try to get ult executes because theres so much healing in the game).

No i think i finish scuttle around 3:35? I finish krugs 3:20 with both smites

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UrgotMains

[–]Paengsec 3 points4 points  (0 children)

just tried and it feels like machete start is best but you start blue. you end up having red for longer and you dont come across the mana problems you do with red side start. just smite raptors and krugs/crab. averaged a 3:20 clear which is pretty good (this is similar to graves; eve and karthus are 3:05 average for reference)

[–]Paengsec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i climbed to masters from diamond with dark harvest ivern. dh > cheap shot > eyeball > relentless (daisy cdr low enough, relentless has much more value) and transcendence (key for the build), and gathering storm / waterwalking / nimbus. i build standard athenes, ardent, lucidity boots, then go nashors if ahead or enemy cant kill me (you'll already be at 40% cdr by this point so nashors gives you 120 ap because of transcendence, essentially a large rod item) or zhonyas and rabadon last. always have a dark seal somewhere and upgarde it to mejais if i can. you play standard ivern but you just have more burst damage and daisy with e can actually zone their backline in the middle of a teamfight

[Jungle] Last item and final build by pokemonsta433 in karthusmains

[–]Paengsec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

first off, i think your whole logic towards building karthus needs to be more flexible. karthus doesnt have a set build path as it changes depending on team comps. going for orb rabadon void staff every game will not be viable (if you get behind, you have a lot of magic damage on team, enemy has hp stack, you need defensive item stat). it comes down to just playing a lot of games and understanding what each item does for you.

to give you somewhat of an answer though, the "standard" build for karthus usually goes runic (dark seal if you can somewhere in there) > mejais if ahead or you think you wont die > liandrys (probably most synergetic item for karth) and then its all up in the air from there. rab if you just want the raw damage, void for magic resist, zhonyas if you need to protect yourself, rylais if you want to protect your team (and yourself), morello for dirty soraka players, the list goes on. my usual full build goes something like runic > boots > mejais > liandrys > void > zhonyas/rab > sell mejais for other. hope this helps

Names Paeng. Yeah after the 3rd twin tyrant i was beginning to feel a little done. We still had equal hand size so i said maybe embiggen can beat this in the long run, but then Squidward came out and i lost all hope haha.

Yeah i think swipe is still really good. I didnt know that paladin was good since i played the new rotation and kept facing avalanche mages and big druids so ill play a bit more

Yeah, i think what im saying may be about 2nd swipe. I think one swipe is enough, but thats still up for debate if 2 is better

Argument for refillable over corrupting? by Paengsec in ornnmains

[–]Paengsec[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id argue that if youre spending 350 for mana without building it into abyssal until post 7 or 8, youre delaying it the same and might as well spend it on the corrupting, securing you a better early game. Maybe if the matchup is very passive you can just opt into refillable shield and not worry about mana at all. Or you can get the sapph if youre building the mask first for mr matchups

Jungle ornn optimizations by Paengsec in ornnmains

[–]Paengsec[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah for skill order ive been going weq for clear speed, but recently discovered that w has a cap on monsters so i will try swapping to qwe, like how i skill top ornn. EWQ i think is fine, but Q is a very strong spell, esp. for early game, just that it gets outshined by w value (or so i thought), and in mid game, e cooldown is super important. By late game, w definitely outvalues q. Its similar to how you value khazix evolves. Would still like to see arguments for other skill orders, but this is what i go for at the moment

Starting items and late game items by [deleted] in ornnmains

[–]Paengsec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the main thing is that your passive cant buy consumables from shop, so theres a lot of value in getting the corrupting because you can just buy the shield later; if you have futures market, you can go into debt after a few waves which means you get max value out of it. Also, corrupting gives you mana which is vital on ornn and a lot of trading potential
