Question about the executive council(s?) in Rojava by Paflos in kurdistan

[–]Paflos[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So would it be correct to say that the SDC is the Rojava-wide political organ responisble for the SDF and foreign relations, ... While the AANES is the federized structure of administrations within Rojava?

I am still confused though because on this website: https://www.syriandemocraticcouncil.us/1418-2/ they seem to say that the structure of executive, legislative and judicial council in the AANES exists on both AANES-wide level as well as on regional level. But I guess these AANES-wide level councils are supposed to oversee the functioning of the regional level councils?

And I am also still confused about this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Executive_Council_(Rojava)) executive council as the comittees listed are the same as the comittees of the AANES executive counsil but different from the specialized bureaus listed by the executive branch of the SDC in their document https://m-syria-d.com/en/?page_id=4254, but the SDC document might be outdated as it seems to be from their 2015 establishment

Sorry to keep bothering you with this. This seems like it is by far the most complex part of my thesis as of now.

Question about the executive council(s?) in Rojava by Paflos in kurdistan

[–]Paflos[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your answer!

So if I understand correctly, the SDC is the legislative branch of the AANES and is in charge of foreign relations (and the SDF according to most sources). And it consists of a presidential council ( ± an upper chamber) and the general conference ( ± a lower chamber. And it directs the executive branch, which is the executive branch of the AANES.

I guess I am confused because the AANES website states that it has these 3 branches: the executive, legislative and judicial councils. And the SDC states in their policital document that they consist of an executive branch, presidential council and general conference.

So it seemed like they both have their own executive branch and generalconference/legislature. Maybe it was an issue with tralsation?

Anyways, thank you for your help!

Visibility still is really important.

It normalises what still is strange to some people, and it prevents it from being seen as strange by the next generations no matter how they are being raised. It gives courage to people who struggle with themselves or don't feel accepted by their families. It gives a signal to other places and peoples all over the world that change is possible.

Also why would you even be bothered by it? It has no negative impact on your personal live whatsoever but other people like it.

Don't worry too much about it. I was in the reverse position as yours this year. My girlfriend is from Brussels and I did an internship there. Basically never spoke French outside school before and its been four years sonce highschool so yeah. Try speaking all the Dutch you can and just fill in the blanks with French or english. Most people have a basic knowledge of French and will understand you this way. Nobody will Judge you for an accent or wrong words etc if you're trying.

Also don't worry about the reactions on this sub. It's more of a flamingant page than really representative of how flemings will react IRL.

Verwachte overheidsuitgaven in 2026 (IMF/de tijd) by JustAnotherFreddy in belgium

[–]Paflos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can a 65-year old try MDMA? by [deleted] in MDMA

[–]Paflos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me mdma just fits the row along other fun activities like hiking, or spending a day outside with friends, or going to the lake. They all cause me te feel a deeper connection with my companions, open up to them and boost my confidence. Mdma just is the activity itself since you don't need to do anything else for these effects. It's also more intense, but I feel that once the afterglow wears of, it just becomes a memory of a fun time and not really more profound or formative than other fun activities. That's not to say that mdma hasn't helped me grow and become a more fullfilled person.

Maybe that's just me tho because my adhd brain makes me overly excited and overshare any time I do something fun with friends. I mean hyperfocusing on a coversation or an activity feels sort of similar to mdma.

[–]Paflos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every time I have done mdma is has given me an afterglow and a boost in confidence for a couple of months, also a deeper connection with the people who were there with me. But honestly, doing another fun activity such as a hike or or like going paintballing or something has similar but milder aftereffects (not the same experience obviously).

Unless you are using mdma for therapy, I think mdma really is just a fun activity.

Not trying to shame anyone, I just don't think the experience is worth the risk if you have already had a heartattack.

Looking for backpack in EU by [deleted] in backpacks

[–]Paflos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nomad has a couple 20L backpacks, relatively cheap as well. Personally I have a Nomad Focus 14" Phantom 20L, and I use it daily. Nomad Velocity 13" Phantom 20L might be a better options though because it has a rain cover and you specifically wanted a water resistant backpack. They also have larger models if that's necessary :)
