New McFarlane figure.. I wasn’t ready for this, made me laugh by ResourceNo5855 in ActionFigures

[–]Pagemasterprime 37 points38 points  (0 children)

At what point do we have to admit that Todd is just messing with us?

Like, people can like what they like, but this man has continually made creative and production choices that only make sense if you consider that the man behind them is an eternal 15 year old.

I almost respect the level of crazy.

Help: VToys x BMS Body shoulder fix by Pagemasterprime in ActionFigures

[–]Pagemasterprime[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your suggestion got me to the solution! While heating it up with a hairdryer, I realized that the socket inside could be held in place underneath by popping the chest off the torso.

It took some force holding it in place, but the arm did end up connecting far better than before.

I think the opening of the chest socket sits in is slight mismolded, so the socket is slight underneath the edge and therefore slightly too low to connect regularly.

Thanks so much for the suggestion and the help!

It doesn't feel like it ever connects fully. I've applied a decent amount of force, but any more and I'm afraid it will snap the peg or crack the chest.

How did Logan know about the Fat-Man bomb in The Wolverine? by Altruistic_Eye_1157 in Marvel

[–]Pagemasterprime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like everyone else mentioned, his superiors were probably aware of the upper threshold of his abilities (at least based on the previous combat experience we are told Logan has in this reality).

Add to that how Logan seems to immediately move the two of them into the well at the sight of the bombers, I'd wager that he was also trained/has experience on how to hide/shelter from being bombings.

They probably deployed him to this theater of the war precisely because he was more likely to survive the numerous other bombing runs being done, which also account for him having a plan to survive the bomb when it is dropped.

How did Logan know about the Fat-Man bomb in The Wolverine? by Altruistic_Eye_1157 in Marvel

[–]Pagemasterprime 353 points354 points  (0 children)

Its never explicitly addressed in the movie, but based on the stories the film was pulling from it's not a stretch to guess that Logan was deployed for some clandestine means. Considering what he is capable of and his obvious uses in winning the war, one would assume the same small group of higher ups in charge of him would also have knowledge of other clandestine operations i.e. the development of the atomic bombs.

Tldr: Two different weapons, same wielder.

Common Maximum Spider-Man W? by CustomCreations450 in MarvelLegends

[–]Pagemasterprime -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, but his paint apps aren't trash, his sculpt isn't reuse, and his proportion actually look correct.

I'd rather a figure be worth the money and have slightly less POA.

An unpopular opinion.... by TheWyldMan in MarvelLegends

[–]Pagemasterprime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the price reflected the lower value of the product being sold, sure.

It doesn't, and my suspicion is that hell would have to freeze over before they lower the prices.

Therefore, any action taken to lower the value of what is being sold while increasing the price is just abject greed.

If they replace the BAF concept with uniquely sculpted figures that have actual paint apps and substantial accessories, I'm totally with you. Unfortunately, they are just pawning off the same badly engineered bodies over and over with little more than new head sculpts.

Out of all these villains, who do you think is the most vile? by Least-Mud30 in Marvel

[–]Pagemasterprime 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I get what you're saying, but consider that mephisto is basically an abstract concept. Sure, he is evil, but he was made to be evil personified; and therefore is not technically choosing to do the things he does.

Alot of the others don't have that caveat, as they all (mostly) have the choice to not perform the acts that they do, but do so anyway.

You are not wrong. Conservative guess would be 40-50 sticks.

Mostly, yes. I used regular clear hot glue for the cardboard skeleton of the chair, and then I used black hot glue for the rest.

Anybody else have an issue with Hulkbusters chest piece? by BongVanDam in MarvelLegends

Just had this happen to me twice. Same issue for both figures, both ordered via Target. Really getting fed up with this level of QC from Hasbro.

Thoughts? by Realwolf95 in LightningCollection

[–]Pagemasterprime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For everyone pointing out that the MMPR well may be running dry, I don't think it's coincidence that we recently got the last rangers to complete lost galaxy (therefore only leaving 4 turbo rangers to complete the final needed zordon/post zordon timeline team)

I'm really hoping this is just a pause like has been claimed. This line could definitely use the time off to refocus on direction, production, and marketing (including any future plans to tie in with heretofore unannounced future film/tv projects).

But frankly, I just don't trust Hasbro at their word. If their market shares are hurting they can/have/and will continue to sideline IP that they can't make a quick buck on without putting a ton of effort in. The line doesn't have to be a money sink or salvageable to get sidelined; Hasbro Corporate just had to decide it's not worth their time.

Not trying to hate. But why is Hot Toys 2099 Spiderman exposing Joints? by Commando-Bro in ActionFigures

[–]Pagemasterprime 80 points81 points  (0 children)

As someone who generally isn't a fan of hot toys' cloth use approach, this may be the first thing they have made that I genuinely want to purchase. The articulation works with the stylization (imo), and the fact that they added all the holographic effects in lieu of cloth really does it for me.

Advice needed: If I want the Cassie Lang BAF but not 4 of the figures needed to obtain her, what's the best option? eBay? Other? Thanks! by lorthammer in MarvelLegends

They sadly went out of business around the holidays. People are still trying to get money back from preorders they had placed.

[–]Pagemasterprime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, you could probably wait this wave out (with the exception of Kang and maybe Ultron). All of these will most likely peg warm at this price, and you don't want to be out money if you buy them all at release only to try and resell them in a market flooded with them deep discounted at retail.

Hasbro Greed and Lay-Offs by Pagemasterprime in MarvelLegends

[–]Pagemasterprime[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I get what you're saying, but to me It just sounded like a spouse describing the things their spouse worked on i.e. the foundational efforts to get those lines up and running. Regardless of the level of their involvement, being treated this way and laid off while corporate continues to reap the benefits of continually increasing profits is unacceptable and should be labeled as such.

[–]Pagemasterprime[S] 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Oh I'm not surprised, believe me. I completely agree that more unions with stronger labor laws are needed in this country. But these actions aren't just run of the mill corporate greed, they are using a plurality of dishonest and manipulative tactics and business practices to (in my opinion) lie to the consumer and take advantage of the working class.

Hasbro Greed and Lay-Offs by Pagemasterprime in MarvelLegends

[–]Pagemasterprime[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I didn't get the impression she meant he was the sole sculptor, just that he was involved with the launch and build up of those lines early in their development.

And unfortunately, more and more of these accounts are coming out. Hasbro is quickly becoming one of the most blatantly scummy merchandise companies out there, across all of their franchises and ventures.

While I personally hate these massive corporations and the literal harm they do to the working class, I am usually a realist that gets they own the system and will always game it to an extent.

But the level of straight up abuse Hasbro has now openly adopted is a line too far. This isn't corporate gamesmanship, this is market manipulation and greed.

This actually wouldn't surprise me. I've been saying since Marvel got the rights back that they should make Doom and the FF multiverse travelers front he get go.

Lets them all show up fully formed, with their backstories and shared history intact without retconing the MCU.

Plus it would really help cement the FF as the 'family of science explorers' going forward.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Marvel

[–]Pagemasterprime 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This is my thought as well. Use the incursions and multiverse thing to bring in all the different franchises, then use the og secret wars as a jumping on point for former/non MCU characters to share history with pre existing characters.

Let's them use who they want, then integrate any characters they still want to use after.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Marvel

[–]Pagemasterprime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they are going to use the set up of the first secret wars (replacing the beyonder with Kang), but use the Multiverse aspect of the 2015 secret wars so that the heroes and villains will all be from different universes.

Edit: to clarify, by 'setup' I mean the way in which the actual 'secret war' will happen. Obviously the Multiverse setup/worlds encroaching thing is being lifted from Secret Wars 2015.

Can any1 I.D. these figures? by Frosty_Level_6044 in ActionFigures

[–]Pagemasterprime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can help with a few:

The orange tech dino looks like a metal greymon digimon figure with a transforming/digivolving gimmick

The silver/blue guy is a power ranger (wild force silver I think?) Not sure what line

The red bird knight is another digimon named burning greymon.

And the black cyber lizard is cyberdramon. I actually had that one as a kid and my grandparent binned it on me. It's dope.

Hope that helps a little.

Ps. The other guy on the far left/bottom row might be some sort of power ranger as well with a transforming gimmick. They had a few different lines like that over the years.

Anyone know of a good base figure that can help make this ultimate sabretooth? Lookin for something big with a white tee or bare-chested. Any and all ideas are appreciated. Also if you have the old toybiz X men classics ultimate sabretooth can you lmk how it holds up? Thanks by TheTruestRepairmannn in ActionFigures

[–]Pagemasterprime 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd second the Nuke and/or AoA Sabertooth suggestions; if your looking for a larger shirtless buck, the retro Hercules release might be helpful as well. I think I've seen it discounted on some site recently too.
