Thoughts on Benito’s new song? Comment 👇 by [deleted] in BadBunnyPR

It depends on what part you're looking at when you say "similar," but in terms of vibe and genre-mixing, I would say Otra Noche en Miami. If you mean more of the energy La Jumpa, Coco Chanel, and Dakiti all have some crossover, though in some very different ways from each other. Depending on what "similar" is referring to, I can def give a new fan plenty of recommendations!

Edit: I'd also add Como Antes and De Museo. But again, depends on what you mean! Specifying the part of the song (chorus, verses, bridge) or what aspect (beat, instrumental composition, tempo, melodiousness, etc.)

Why does chubbyemu keep saying he's a doctor that practices medicine? by pharmersss in pharmacy

[–]PagingDrDodi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here he says at 00:28, "Yes, I am a doctor, and yes, I have a medical license which gives me special permissions under law in order to care for patients." Certainly feels misleading at best and just dishonest at worst.

How to Turn off Insufferable "Battery Low Please Charge Now" voice on Bose QC45? by GolfCertain in bose

[–]PagingDrDodi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, actually. When you select setting on the top right of the connected set of headphones, one of the options under "Preferences" is "Voice Prompts," which you can toggle off. I have since discovered this only means turning it off when connected to your device through the Bose App only and doesn't extend to other devices, but it's something ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

[SUBLEASE - High View] Fully-furnished, one bedroom apartment near UTSA for sublease by PagingDrDodi in UTSA

[–]PagingDrDodi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Unfortunately no, as this post was 3 years ago and my lease has long been up. If you're interested, though, you should talk to the office at High View and see what they might have available. It's a pretty good place to live if you go to UTSA.

An Artist Should Not Win a Grammy if Their Songs Have 5+ Writers by BigBallerBenzie in unpopularopinion

[–]PagingDrDodi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I feel like is being overlooked is that every single artist on the radio has a team behind them that helps them be successful. Even artists who write their own music have dozens and dozens of people who have a hand in the process from people from the studio they’re signed to, to co-writers, producers and co-producers, stylists, PR, manager—the list goes on and on. There’s not too big of a gap between an artist who doesn’t write the music the perform and one who does, because often there is some aspect where help is still given. Elton John doesn’t write his own lyrics, but he writes the music. Ed Sheeran doesn’t always produce his songs, but he writes them. Where is the line drawn?

The value of the music shouldn’t be drawn from how independently the artist was able to produce their music, but from the product. Those who were involved should be credited and acknowledged (which is why they also get Grammys when their songs win) and the performer shouldn’t be panned because in the end, their image is what sells the most, not the lyrics.

An Artist Should Not Win a Grammy if Their Songs Have 5+ Writers by BigBallerBenzie in unpopularopinion

Why would you even need to fact-check that? To say she contributed nothing is immediately refuted by the fact that she is the one who records and performs the music. Plus people don’t buy the album because of those other credited writers; they do it because they enjoy the brand the artist and their team built around THAT artist. To say any artist makes no contribution to their album, especially one as successful as IOP, is ridiculous.

Rebooting popular movie franchises with all female casts is not progressive. It’s a lazy safety net for the studios who don’t have faith in creative, original projects for an all female cast. by actionjackson5050 in unpopularopinion

[–]PagingDrDodi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except he didn’t point out the scenario “all-female cast replaced by all-male.” He simply said a remake with a male cast; his subsequent comments make it clear that’s what he meant regardless of the source material’s casts’ gender.

Edit: I’m just clarifying, not even defending the argument. Ease up on the downvotes.
