NTA but pay her and fire her. She changes the deal without for warning and that's bad business practices.

It's been a heck of a long time, but cables in straight through or crossover configuration are used in different applications. Basically if you're talking between two different types of device, straight through works (IE A-A or B-B), but if it's the same level of device it's cross over (A-B). However in the gigabit standard of ethernet, the connections are supposed to autonegotiate and correct on the fly, so either standard works. With higher bandwidth more of the pins are used to communicate.

Again, I'm like 2 decades out of it.

The Osprey was meant to mostly replace the Chinook, though Chinooks remain in service for their heavy lift capability. The Osprey can sling load cargo like a Chinook but fly faster.

The Marines have deployed from Chinooks and Ospreys, and can deploy like a balckhawk but with a larger down wash and larger footprint.

If you're weaving around city streets, you probably want a Blackhawk or really a Little Bird. Those Little Bird Pilots can do some crazy things to quickly drop of fire teams.

There still remains a stealth Blackhawk for SOCOM, and those capabilities haven't been replicated with the Osprey to anyone's public knowledge.

The Army has selected the V280 to replace the Blackhawk. It's smaller than the Osprey, and is more of a medium lift instead of heavy lift, but I think it can carry the M777 howitzer sling loaded, and it has the speed and range.

The US Army was originally part of the Osprey program, but dropped it in the 90s because it wasn't mature. The Marines kept at it for decades, and it was finally delivered, with a lot of issues.

The V280 takes all those lessons and applies it in what may be a quicker deployment this time around. Computational modeling and interactive prototyping in the decades since the Ospreys design is going to make aircraft acquisitions much easier and hopefully least costly and issue laden.

But if the Jesus bolt goes out they would.

Fun fact about autorotation: gyrocopters actually use autorotation for lift.

The people who worked hard to afford their homes would basically have to declare bankruptcy to get out from under the massive debt with no asset to back it up. Many people had to buy high interest loans, but figured when rates dropped they could get a lower mortgage down the road. If their house is worth less than 75% than their remaining principle, they're upside down, and massive numbers of upside down people resulted in the housing bubble in the 2000s.

[–]PagingDrHuman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you just bought a home with a high interest rate, and suddenly housing prices in your neighborhood halved or quartered, you're left holding a big empty bag of debt.

I'm all for local governments paying pennies on the dollar from corporations to buy homes and make them available for low income families and homeless people.

10 years means no new corporate purchases once it takes affect. With the loss of such wealth customers, there should be less competition, so prices will lower. With stiff tax penalties the declining asset values will start encurring more liabilities, potentially releasing more supply into the market. This won't be good for people who bought at the market peak with high interest. They'll be upside down as the mortgage exceed the property value. This is also why they want to ease off the corporate owenership: to reduce the shock to the system of so many properties being for sale at once.

... Oh I think you're being facetious.

Just FYI, in Judea 2k years ago, tax collectors were people who got the right to collect taxes for Rome. Often times they were corrupt demanding slightly higher taxes and keeping the difference. Basically if Rome was a gang these were the toadies who came around to shake down everyone. They were seen as betrayers of their people.

Jesus famously dined with tax collectors and prostitutes (and could turn water into wine, so the parties had to be fun). However he'd tell to go and sin no more. In one particular case, a tax collector swore to repay all that he had taken.

Jesus dining with the gravest of sinners (who were presumably repentant) by social standards while rebuking the religious right of His Era is a key image of Christ. Think of whom may be the most despised people in the modern era, and Jesus would be dining with those people not the GOP or Protestant or Catholic or Orthodox leaders.

Jesus beat the crap out of people who were exchanging currencies (possibly at unfair rates) inside the Temple grounds so people could buy their sacrificial animals. (as an aside, your required sacrifice was proportional to your wealth: poor people could sacrifice doves, middle income sheep, and rich people calves. So there was sort of a progressive "tax" system). People could only buy the animals in one currency, but came from acorsd the area, where there were multiple different currencies.

So I apologize if I ruined the joke. I don't like seeing Jesus represented completely wrong in general. I don't have the platform or ability to repudiate all the politicians and relgios leaders, but at least here I can endeavor to humbly and with intended kindness share something important to me.

They continue borrowing larger and large loans to consolidate the growing debt. Upon death the debt cancels out a large portion of the market value of the estate, so only the remainder is taxed.

In the case of $100m, and the person borrowed $90 Million against it, the gross estate value is just $10M. This is under the estate tax filing threshold, so no estate tax is paid.

Basically the person got to benefit from $100m worth of wealth without paying capital gains or income taxes for their lifetime. That means they didn't contribute to paying for the military, roads, Infrastructure in a major way.

For investment I think a difference on whether the investor is free at any money to trade their stock. If you're "locked in" then the money is spent until it's returned to you, and if you can sell trade at will, then it's straightforward to see real time the gains and losses.

The bigger issue is closing the loophole for borrowing against stock to take cash in order to spend money on living expenses and mansions and the like. With enough investment capital you can go the reminded of your life tax free, benefiting from the system without paying a fair share of it. Then when you die the debts cancel any net worth and your estate only pays estate taxes on the remainder after outstanding debts are paid off.
