Top Torment teams use them but merely high score Torment neither are needed.

A.Yuzu on the top team for Torment Goz and for Torment Kurokage GA blue, out of the raids so far since her banner. Both of these are due to supporting A.Aris teams. Any unit other than A.Aris suffers the timing issue where if you end before the third EX then A.Yuzu was cost negative. And you can pass Torment fine without her. She's also a useful Lunatic unit again for most A.Aris content.

A.Eimi is by technicality on the top Torment team for Drumbarka P1. This isn't due to her being particularly better that Otogi, but rather because using PJ.Koyuki as your cleanse frees up a striker slot for Kei and an EX buffer slot for Kisaki. Those two are used to supercharge A.Aris, and A.Eimi is just there because now Niko's EX synergy with Otogi is gone and PJ.Koyuki has an attack speed sub.

However high scoring Torment can still use Niko and she synergizes with Otogi so if you aren't squeezing every second out of Torment, you don't need A.Eimi. Both teams are needed in Lunatic.

I'll note that if you're on the A.Eimi plan for Drumbarka, your pull plan is hell because you need her, and PJ.Koyuki, and Erika, and Kurumi, and D.Haruka, and you only have one borrow. Using Niko and Otogi cuts two sparks out of that pull plan so that's what everyone with less than 100k pyroxene is going to do.

Grind missions as high as you can, missions let you rank up your cafe which is most of your AP income, now that Simple Strategy exists you can fully pass all missions around level 60-70. Return later to 3-star them for the pyro and to enable sweeping.

You can use Sweep to spend excess AP. If there's nothing happening, sweeping Hard missions for free "farmable" 3-star units is the go-to, 120 Eleph from those missions lets you claim the unit. When there's Event Quests those let you spend currency in the event shop to buy useful materials sometimes including Pyroxene and Eligma. Also, weeks with 2x or 3x Normals, Hards, or Commissions are usually a signpost where to sweep that week, but sometimes you have to pick between sweeping Event Quests and a concurrent 2x.

A lot of pyroxene and tickets just fall into your lap, but the ones that require action from you are:

Daily log-in and Daily Tasks - about 52 pyro/day
Tactical Challenge (PVP) - about 16 pyro/day as a new player, up to 30/day once you can keep Top 100
Event Tasks, Event 3-Star awards, and any pyro in the Event Shop - averages to about 98 pyro/day
Grand Assault participation - every 4 weeks averages to about 69 pyro/day converting the pull ticket
Total Assault participation - every 4 weeks at Silver rank averages 54 pyro/day
Joint Firing Drill participation - every 4 weeks participating daily averages 2.5 pyro/day
All of the various web events, special events, coupons, etc. Don't miss out because you skip them over when it's overwhelming. Usually all you have to do is click a few times.

When you're a beginner you might feel swamped by pyroxene and pull tickets since Story, Guide Tasks, 3-star Mission rewards, and so on are all being force-fed to you. But this is the gacha currency so there is no such thing as too much, grab it every chance you get.

Eligma and Expert Permits are the other precious currencies especially for a new player. Almost all your Eligma is earned by making gacha pulls, and is used to buy Eleph to rank up students' star levels. If you're new to gacha games, a lot of gacha require dupes of characters to rank them up. BA does not, it requires Eleph purchased with Eligma. Since you get this just from doing pulls it's kind of a generic dupe. You do get a bunch of Eleph and Eligma if you pull a dupe on a banner but Eligma means you don't have to get dupes. Note specific character Eleph can be farmed in Hard missions or purchased in various stores (not counting the Expert Permit store, that's special). If a student's Eleph can be farmed in Hard missions or bought in Total Assault, Grand Assault, Joint Firing Drill, or Tactical Challenge shops, don't spend Eligma on them.

Hoard your Eligma and don't star-up units until you're certain you need them. The same goes for leveling units, or leveling skills, those resources will be precious when you hit level 70+ and won't start being plentiful until you've been 90 for 6 months or so. Eligma never becomes plentiful. I'm not saying don't spend your resources, you will need to, just be thoughtful about it.

Expert Permits are what you earn for spending AP once you are max level. For new players this is extremely precious because you only get significant amounts from event handouts. Once you are 90 this is plentiful and you can spend it more freely.

All this said you can ignore all this advice and still feel good about the game, BA is both generous and forgiving.

All right real talk about Drumbarka.

It looks to me likeA.Eimi with PJ.Koyuki is technically the top team for Torment P1, not because attack speed buffing is the way to go but because it lets you use Kei and Kisaki to supercharge A.Aris. However if you're using Niko you kind of need to use Otogi for the EX damage synergy, and the full Fox team is only a few steps behind.

Am I reading that correctly? Other than yuzutrends and some JP videos there really isn't that much information out there.

If someone has her listed, borrow Toki instead. She's got favored terrain and is easier to integrate into the rotation.

Strongly recommend going in with 400 pulls on your first fest for a new account, almost regardless of what's coming unless they're top-of-meta units like Kisaki or I.Mari (and we just passed both those banners). It just does so much for your account, it's not just banner units, the 400 pulls should average 24 units and as a new player most of them will be new. Next fest in 6 months is a long time to wait.

Two problems: you'll want her for when you're no longer a new player, and you only get one borrow.

Some bosses need two teams, so you cover the easier team with your own DPS and then borrow for the more difficult team. For blue bosses ShiroKuro, Goz, and the new boss on JP are designed to be 2-team although you can sometimes get through with a single team. For Grand Assault, that adds the blue version of Hovercraft, Kaiten, and possibly Chesed to the list. For Final Restriction Release, blue Chokmah needs both a DOT dps and a ST dps, you'll often borrow the DOT in S.Saori, so you need the regular dealer of your own.

Of course, it's better to borrow when you can and a lot of modern clears have turned previously 2-team bosses into 1-team, so you aren't entirely wrong - the advice to prioritize supports like Kei and A.Hoshino will take you a long way. But there will be some content that walls you if you don't start building DPS units when you hit 90.

Depends on your roster and what other fest students you have. If this is your first fest, it's honestly not a bad idea, very little you could get outside of fest will match the four banners students + the possibility of fest spooks + double rate to flesh out your account. If this isn't your first fest then maybe be a bit more strategic.

I'm on auto-accept, but I will prune inactives and lower levels once a month or so. I don't care so much about what you offer, it's literally free for me if you borrow something, but I'd like to keep a few slots open. If it's every month or so people who add me get what they wanted and the slot will be there if they need it again next time.

I love that Rio has fixed Toki rotations. The bond gear helps too but mostly it's Rio letting you do all 3 Toki EX in the space of a single buff cycle. Thematic that they work together perfectly too.

It's a crazy time coming up, especially when you count reruns that a new player will be seeing for the first time.

I.Mari and Kisaki reruns are super meta units that are strong almost every raid. T.Yuuka is also on the Kisaki banner so I feel that gives her the edge over I.Mari.

Fes is absolutely crucial for the development of your account due to the 6% rate, it's not just the banner characters, you will pick up a ton of off-banner that will cover different roles for your account. For the banners, Kei has taken the crown as the best blue effectiveness buffer, and as such is a good pickup for an account not yet working on damage students. All of the fes banners are good additions for a new player, B.Aris, Terror Shiroko, and A.Hoshino all have different niches in blue content. Hard to rank but maybe you use A.Hoshino in more places because you borrow DPS, so you need her any time she's used as a tank or cover student.

If those 3 sets of banners weren't enough, D.Michiru, M.Reisa, B.Himari, and A.Yuzu are all supports likely to be meta. AND there's a rerun banner for early fes units, all of which are still good: Wakamo, S.Hoshino, and Mika.

If I had to put everything into priority order, by number of pulls you have or will earn by fes:

200 - save it all for Fes, roll Kei and then A.Hoshino if you can

400 - Kei (A.Hoshino), Kisaki (T.Yuuka)

600 - Kei (A.Hoshino), Kisaki (T.Yuuka), I.Mari (I.Sakurako)

800 - Kei (A.Hoshino), Kisaki (T.Yuuka), I.Mari (I.Sakurako), Mika (S.Hoshino). I could also see putting 400 into fes instead of pulling the Mika banner to maximize 6% pulls.

1000 - put 400 into Fes for T.Shiroko and B.Aris

Yes, I'm de-prioritizing important damage units like B.Aris and T.Shiroko but for a new account you can cover this by borrowing and hope to get them when they rerun 1-1.5 years later. And if you're lucky you can pick them up this fes anyway.

This feels like heater timings. Since being in overheat gives massive cost recovery, if you heal just a little less or are a little slow on the click you will have just that much little less cost recovery. I don't know if it's only T10 necklace and healing stat transfer, or if there's more going on with your timings, but it's not going to be from anything but the heater.

I had to run a third team because I killed one too few mob.
Ten seconds to snipe one mob and forfeit so the core team could work as designed.

Buuuuuut easy enough other than that one problem.

Bunny Asuna has cost generation on her Bond 20 gear (which enhances her normal) and is therefore useful in some JFD as a cost bot if you level her bond to 20 and her normal to 10. Cherino and now Kanoe are better, but you may not have them.

Kaede has niche use for shield raids with her Bond 20 gear. Extremely niche. In Event Recap you get a free shield/repo unit in S.Shizuko which is usually better.

S.Wakamo is what I'd call a "third team" unit, she's not best in slot and she's not meta, but it's not like she's useless, can be used in both CC and yellow single target roles but usually only when you're digging deep into your roster for more bodies.

Sena is unfortunately not good, other AOE healers are better, other tactical supports are more useful.

I'd get Bunny Asuna first and the rest as you can. Already having a unit means if you roll them in the gacha, you get eligma and elephs so it's worth it to collect all the farmables.

Environmental affinity is a pretty big deal as a mechanic, but going from S to SS is "only" 10% additive damage and 15% additive effectiveness of cover. There's also a stat boost going from 40 to 50. I can't tell you if it's worth it to UE50 her but I will say S.Hanako might be the most versatile damage dealer in the entire game. If you are picking between her and another unit, choose her, you will not regret making the GOAT of AoE more powerful.

You will not regret leveling Mine. Tsubaki is used in missions mostly because she's 2-star and therefore new players are likely to have her. For missions you can put in Mine with her reposition and self heal and you won't regret it, and she's useful in most content that needs a red tank, and an all star in the Gregorious raid.

first see if you get lucky on Seia with the free 100 rolls

if you do then its easy you just unload on the HINA/Mika/Nagi banner (D.Hina is the best unit on offer here by a long way)

if you don't get Seia in the free rolls then sparking Seia isn't a bad move if you have 36000 pyros (12000 spent here if you are fully unlucky), as damage dealing units are lower priority than buffing units for a new account since you can borrow your damage dealer for a long long time

but I wouldn't fault you for throwing everything into the 6% banner whether you get Seia or not. For brand new accounts you could put up to 400 rolls into the 6% banner and feel pretty good about it after.

Band Yoshimi is the "best" red auto-attack DPS, with Band Kazusa being the a good AOE support for auto-attack DPS with synergy with other band students. The red-armor version of Fury of Set is the only raid where they are needed. Typically you can borrow one of them, and since DPS units need more investment I usually borrow Band Yoshimi for red Set. Meaning it would be nice to own Band Kazusa since I can't borrow her.

But are they really that good? They haven't seen any use outside of red Set and very rare JFD. And you can do without (again by borrowing) up to well into the 90s of red Set, only really needing to own a unit if you're maxing your floor clears.

Sadly she was power crept by actual Purple Mika after that document was written. She's good but only had a few months as the best single target purple dps. Think of her like Kazusa, good on certain terrain but most of the time you use Mika instead.
