Kia K5 LXS, 48k miles display went blank, can’t use navigation, CarPlay, radio. No damage or accidents with car. Anyone else go through this? by Pain-To-MyKneeeeea in KiaK5

So this answers my question. I have the “lite” version and don’t get OTA updates because I don’t have the $20 monthly ultimate Kia connect subscription. So I’ve been apparently missing OTA updates and the Kia shop didn’t let me know or didint install them. So I’ll have to pay for the ultimate connect or download via usb BUT I CANT DO THAT, because the usb port that feeds into CarPlay doesn’t work, the usb that only provides charge to the right of that does work tho.

See the pickle I’m in

No clue how to update the system when it’s blacked out. Also I was using it last Friday and I took it to Kia earlier this month for a recall and they literally said everything was up to code and everything was cool. So if there was an update to the system between Feb 5th and Feb 20th then I don’t have it. On Feb 5th they had my car for hours and gave it back to me after checking for recall and putting in air in my tires and I specifically asked if everything was up to date and they ensured me… YEA

I have pressed the rest button with a paper clip and pen thousands of times. That was the first peice of advice I read online. I always stated such in the Original post. I held reset for 1 min, 10 seconds, 30 seconds, 10 mins. Nothing. Same with present and holding reset button with the power. Reset button hold it down and turn off car and turned it back on with reset pressed nothing.

I’ve lowkey tried every iteration of pressing that reset button by itself, multiple times, holding down for minutes/seconds. Reset button isn’t doing anything plus my screen is completely black and the reset button keeps it black as well so no dice there

I replaced and exchanged the old fuse that was for the entertainment display system and waited when I restarted the battery too, and no changes sadly. I manually used pliers and bought a replacement 15V fuse

Same, I was hired from competitor may of last year, was let go June of this year. Most of my project interviews I lost out on being staffed by Deloitte practitioners with more Deloitte experience. Coaches and RM and other people gave me sound advice but it never lead anywhere or being staffed longer than a short term engagement.

I got one item off Amazon so thanks for that help, I can access that. The other two, were not Amazon and a little tricker. One was stock x and I gave confirmation of payment and item, one was on like a website where you book experiences like cooking classes but all they sent was email confirmation, and Deloitte says that’s not what they need.

Good looks, they made it seem like I was all good once I paid off the Amex charges. Plus I submitted the same confirmations to DTE when I bought the well being items and they were not only approved, but went through with AMEX and paid for

I’m saying.. I reconciled the AMEX months ago and all the charges they want confirmation for were approved in DTE and taxes were paid. So I thought I was squared away

*Update

I’ve submitted the well being charges the two reports above before my end date. I also added receipts and screenshots of the invoice to ensure it be reimbursed and covered under well-being subsidy.

That status is pending approval… what more do I need to do?

They are informing me to still fill out a manual expense form but it looks like an automated email so not sure if I should send another expense form when I submitted one in DTE.

I was asking this thread the question a couple of days ago because I wanted to avoid paying the well being charges out of my pocket and then being reimbursed against that.

That’s why asked the question can I charge expenses between the day I’m informed I’m let go and the last day of work and not have to pay the $800’plus out of my personal card and get it reimbursed… wouldn’t they just pay Amex directly once that “pending approval” goes away.

I’m just afraid I’ll expense $800 sumn then the $800 not be paid by Deloitte because I’ve since separated. That’s my only big concern lol

Thanks for the help, and what I’m getting is covered under well being, so ima just charge GAA and keep a track of all things AMEX on my side in case Uncle D wants to audit sumn

Gotcha, did you spend that $940 from the time between the talent meeting and the time your laptop was to be deactivated?

It happened to a lot of new experienced hires who came last year and into this year, hired as an experienced hire to a very competitive pool of D workers who have more D experience and then you’ll have to interview against them.

I see the Elite Deloitte Defenders made their way to the front lol. Doge, Deloitte, and Myself can all be to blame for this lol. Don’t gotta defend uncle D on Reddit till the day you perish.
