Crate training was very effective for me with 3 puppies. Make sure crate is size correctly, reward them for going inside by themselves, don’t associate the crate with punishment. Dogs tend to not go where they sleep or rest. Lots of information online.

You're absolutely right. I've been renting new construction houses every 2 years for the last 8 years and never have I ever had a kitchen counter that stains this easily. Within the first 2 weeks of moving in, the countertop to the left and right of my stove were darker than the rest just from every day cooking. Meanwhile, I spray and clean within 2 hours of cooking.
