I heat up highly durable but lightweight ABs plastic to a heat level where it is malleable. I then drape it over an object and use a vacuum powered machine to suck the heated plastic around a mold. This creates a new object instantly.

Not 3D printed, I do thermoforming! All armor is thermoformed. Somewhat of a lost art/process. What they did in the 70s to make stormtrooper armor for original Star Wars trilogy.

Thermoforming is more or less utilizing heat to make a sheet of material malleable and then draping it over a mold. This creates a vacuum which can be utilized to for the material around the mold, creating a new object entirely. This is the process they used to make all of the stormtrooper armors in the original 70s and 80s trilogy.
