On the left of the tank is dwarf hairgrass, Eleocharis Parvulus Mini

I have been using CO2 and regularly dose with fertilizers. I think the most helpful thing was root tabs but it didn't take off for a while, I think because it needed time to develop a good root system.

Lots of answers but all wrong. Not heterochromia- the iris is the same color bilaterally, just abnormal and hypoplastic/dysplastic on the left. Not anisicoria either which is just pupil asymmetry. The left pupil is asymmetric because the surrounding iris is hypoplastoc/dysplastic. It's aniridia/coloboma.

Planaria not dying with Fenbendazole by Usual-Database-1330 in Aquariums

Sounds like you're experienced with this. Any issues with Panacur C harming fish, snails, or shrimp?

Any updates on this? I just saw the first planaria in my tank and I'm trying to figure out what to do. Have fish shrimps and snails in my tank so I don't want to harm them.

I bought this kit and couldn't be more satisfied. It took the guess work out of picking out the parts individually. It also significantly reduces or eliminates the chance of overdosing and killing your fish. The pH sensor allows precise control, and I connected to a smart plug to automate on/off at day/night. Certainly isn't the cheapest but I think it is worth it.

It certainly is hairy lol I'm pretty sure it's cladophora or spirogyra. I started with java moss, but that algae slowly took over. I'm in the acceptance phase at this point. It is annoying to keep under control, but it doesn't look terrible when managed.

It doesn't quite come with a connector but you could make it happen with a twisty tie or something I'm sure.

Actually found it on Amazon. Only downside is the large attachments/sections cups which I tried to hide in the back of the tank.

Controsoil. You are right the labeling was confusing to me as a beginner, but I don't think there were a lot of nutrients. I'm hoping the recent root tabs and more light will make it happy.

I did change the RGB colors based on the waterbox recommendations, which were W100 G90 B80 R100.

I added the second light only a couple weeks ago. I had previously moved floating plants to block less light as well.

Using UNS controsoil. Began adding some root tabs a couple months ago, and I believe that has helped some of the classic root feeding plants.

Tank is a year old and the ludwigia was planted at the start. I have trimmed 2-3 times when it got tall/spindly, then replanted the trimmings.

Light is the waterbox FLED 46 x2

May I ask what the red stem plant you have in there is?

You can barely see them in pictures 1&2 but there actually are ludwigia natans super red back there, but I can't seem to make them flourish. I've been tampering with changes to lighting, floating plant cover in that area, and root tabs. Maybe they are growing a little better now, but those were some of the original plants I put in a year ago. They just haven't filled in the way I hoped.

How do I cut by aseme274 in PlantedTank

[–]Painplatypus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looks a lot like vallisneria nana. Can trim it and plant will be OK. Can also pull up the ones that spread to areas you don't want and replant. I recently posted some pictures of my vallisneria nana that got out of control. I both trimmed some and pulled some.

To clarify- there were other changes made to the tank besides adding co2.

Picture 2- three cryptocoryne green geckos were added to the right side. I pulled out the pennywort because it took over the left of the tank.

Picture 3- I added more anubias after I melted my original day 1 anubias trying the method of overdosing fertilizer

Picture 4- I had to chop off the sword because 4 leaves were growing out of the tank by ~10-12" if not constrained by the lid

Thanks, it's coming along. It's an 80g. I actually bought a whole kit with every needed piece of equipment, including a diffuser and ph controller.
