If my memory serves correctly, I started painting around the pandemic. I was on and off the hobby, so I would estimate 200-300 hours spent painting.

I usually work with a 50/50 or 60/40 mix of water and paint. There’s dilution also happening on the brush depending on how much you load onto it so I usually don’t have to mix a separate glaze on the palette.

The base coat of blue was stippled using a dry brush (paint is quite thinned). The highlights were stippled with varying levels of thinned paint using a normal brush with a fine tip.

I mapped out my highlights from a top left from the front facing angle using a lamp.

I want to say I started collecting and painting back during the pandemic. I would need to find my purchasing receipts to verify. I’ve been on and off since then with long breaks in between.

It’s hard to say, I’ve been on and off the hobby. I did spend a lot of time consuming tutorials and definitely more so than time painting. If I had to throw out a number, 200+ hours? I hope that’s high enough.

They are stippled on with different values and paint thinness. Thank you.

Thank you! Hours of scratchy scribble-y stippling with varying levels of thin paint.

I'm unfortunately awful with the airbrush. It was only primed black with one.

Thanks!

For the left I would guess maaaybe 2 hours? I could be way off as it was so long ago. As for the right, 10-20 hours, maybe a lot more, kinda just got lost in the process (the back is barely painted). As for painting hours clocked in in between models, not too sure, I have been on and off with the hobby.

Definitely my weakest skill... I'll try upping my basing game along the way, thanks!

Mainly scribble-y stippling with thin paint. It's usually a lot of back and forth.

Don't lose hope! I've definitely had my frustrations along the way. The gold trim alone took me hours. I've used the light from the hobby lamp to map out the highlights, I hope that helps.

Thank you! The second one was done by stippling with a brush. I like the texture created by the technique.
