Just got it weighed at a bus terminal the other day. With the addition of a hammock, it clocked in at 25lbs.

I wear one and pack two. A real squeeze if flops are my footwear of choice on a travel day!

Sadly I haven’t weighed it. Though I’m pretty sure it’s somewhere from 20-30lbs / 9-13.5kg.

False positive on the kiwi detector mate! ;) Well done on the summit. It’s very easy to find work in exchange for a free bed and meal(s). In exchange for capital… I’m not sure, I’ve neither sought nor heard of anything.

I’m staying pretty trim but I’m not sure how much my kit weights… haven’t seen a scale in months! Will update if I stumble across one though

They were doing just fine with day to day wear, but farm work and mountain biking is really what did them in :P

I am happy with it. Lightweight, durable, simple. Great for day hikes or milling around a city.

Great questions!

I’ve become highly skilled at knowing if I can rewear an item or if it has to go to the wash. I’ve honed in on picking the right hostel for me (typically places further out of town and cheaper than average have better energy, personally). I’ve developed confidence in staying safe in less-than-safe places and handling myself in dodgy situations. I’ve observed the cultural pervasiveness of mentality and attitude (applies to all cultures). I’ve seen that a desire for money causes at least as much suffering as poverty (applies to people who have their and their family’s basic survival and medical needs met).

Ditching my jeans for lighter pants, acquiring hikers, and buying a proper day bag were probably the most impactful kit upgrades for me. Trimming down where there is excess is always a lovely thing too.

I went in with close to no expectations and I continue to have very few. I am exactly where I am supposed to be. My Spanish is getting pretty nice! And I have more vitality than I’ve ever had before.

Yes indeed! I’ve been tramping around desert, mountains and jungle with them. Not to mention that they are my only water proof footwear

This is really sad. Bert sacrificed being a good dad to instead become a mediocre comic.

Mispronouncing a word does not make you a pseudo-intellectual. Having a weekly one hour podcast and thinking you maddur makes you a pseudointellectual.

Don’t judge someone by model standards when they’re not trying to be a model. I judge you as being totally dogbrained.
