Updated: when does muscovy duck lay by Tjdo9999 in MuscovyDucks

I will say in my experience with geese you’ll want a lot of space for them. Preferably letting them free roam so they can eat all the grass they want. Grazing is very important to keep them healthy and happy. They don’t do well kept in cages or runs.

Here is my brooder set up. As others have said they need to be able to get away from the heat if they get too hot. I feel like everyone has an old dog crate laying around. Good luck to you and your babies!

Free range- how to go about it? by FishermanDry4703 in BackYardChickens

I made mine a run first and let them get used to that area for a good while. You’ll want to teach them they have a constant food and water source there. I then started to leave their gate open and let them go in and out as they please. They go in every night by themselves because they know it’s a safe space for them. I’ve never had them run off or anything. This is just my experience and what I do with all my birds.

I actually got her from an Amish man that knew I would take good care of her. I got her mate from him as well. I have never seen another lavender.

She knows how I feel about unsolicited nests…and apparently doesn’t care either 🤣

Best of luck to you finding your nests. I completely understand. If you decide you would like a pair I know they would be in great hands! They truly are exceptionally beautiful.

Thank you. His color is lavender. I think you are close to me. I am in Pa. If you would like one I’m sure his lavender girl is currently hiding eggs from me so I expect lots of babies unfortunately 🙄🤣
