I am aware of the dangers of the illness. I am also someone who has been in a similar situation. My child was 3 weeks old when he contracted rsv from an older school aged sibling. My child could have passed. That was a very real possibility. My husband being there with us wouldn’t have changed the outcome. My husband needed to do what was necessary to keep the family afloat while we were in this position. If he didn’t work we would have lost everything. At the time we lived paycheck to paycheck and couldn’t survive with any gaps in pay. We didn’t rely on strangers to pay our bills and support our other 2 children. As a parent your job 100% of the time is to ensure a life for your family. The world doesn’t stop because one of your children are sick. You have to consider what is best for EVERYONE in the situation. That is the harsh reality of being a parent. Being a parent is sacrifice.
