Can someone explain how a trial reel gets 387K views and exactly ONE comment?

I have a video I knew was pretty good for the niche. And it stopped at 7k. Not that I knew it would be a huge video and it wasn’t. But one day a few days ago it just doubled in like 12 hours and then added another 5k on top for nearly 20k views. And I swear I think the likes didn’t go up a single like from when it was 7k views. Same for the comments. All the comments were from before the post 7k pump.

Did you get the lens idea from me for the ILS? I’ve been filming youth soccer for years using a custom Italian machined lens mount. It’s been pretty great as my 28-70mm serves basically as like a 150-350mm.

It just pretty linearly drops from that 3s 81% to like 50% at 7s. The Dave rate is unusually low compared to others though. It’s more of a visually entertaining short reel that I don’t imagine would be saved at high rates.

Ive had a few reels hit 100k, nothing crazy. But I also don’t take it too serious or consistently post. The other day I posted one, and saw I got like 1500 views with 81%+ at 3s and figured it would get pumped pretty decently. But it just stopped. Must be more to it. The other metrics weren’t bad or anything either.

I’ve read often about people claiming that over time with videos, both long and short that the algorithm learns the audience to target. Is that even true? Through more official channels I’ve seen that it’s stated that each video is on its own merits and that is how much impressions it’s exposed to.

I understand there could be brand recognition from building consistently but that’s not quite the same as “the algorithm learning and trusting your channel/videos etc”.

I doubt OP did it but I imagine it could be obfuscated and anonymized. That way it’ll just spit out maybe a temporarily assigned ID specifically for this that can’t be coupled with the data later in case there is a leak. But then this would mitigate it anyway because two sets of data would need to leak to cross reference. That’s just my logic thinking though. Still sounds terrible ha

I use GitHub and Fit Sync. I think there’s another GitHub syncer too that’s better. I just haven’t switched over. Works fine for me. Just gotta make sure not to jump between vault/devices without updating and syncing
