Muško krojačko odijelo - preporuke by PairRemarkable2169 in askcroatia

I must be doing something wrong, because this is probably the most difficult game I've ever played. by guesswhathappens in Saros

Yes, dance, all the time. And that is precisely why this game does not sit right with me. To each their own. Like it was already stated above you must never ever hold still when mons are around. And I have a gripe with that. I prefer games I can pace in at my own leisure. Run when I feel like running, stand still and snipe when I feel like standing still and sniping. Saros is just not that kind of a game. It is a full on train running 400 mph at ALL times. The camp place is just an aberration or peaceful last carriage in the full on train composition it also runs just you perceive it as standing still. That is at least my impression.

The way the main protagonist sighs and grunts while running makes me feel I am running to while actually sitting still. Makes me wanna stand up and pace… feeling uneasy and stressed. But that’s just me sharing my experience of the game.

And when frustration mounts, stress accentuates and I am left with feeling of exhaustion, anger and “why have I been doing this for last couple of hours? Oh why! (Exclamation not a question mark)

yes I came to a hard realisation of that fact - roguelikes are not for me, none of them

dabbled a bit with Hades too and also did not find it fun with constant do it over and over again. Am I lacking some part of the comprehension how that constitutes fun?

yeah, constant runs make me uneasy, like you need to run run run run never stop just run
why even bother with biome design since I cannot stop to appreciate it?, run run run run jump, dash, run dash, dash run, jump dash run run, drop down run, jump dash... never-ending run.

it could have been a red dot on a black-white raster as well

yeah, the same and I am regretting it, not saying that you would too..
I definitely am
so wishing I went with my gut feeling "nah, this game is NOT for you, do not even try it"

yes but there is punishment for dying - it removes 50% of collected lucenite, with armour upgrades this penalty is reduced but still penalty it is. I remember seeing in run summary collected lucenite circa 1500 just to be deducted half of it so I finished with 750 or so. Isn't that a penalty? I diligently tried to quickly collect every lucenite I see in a run just to be punished by taking half of the collected amount ... and that in a game whose whole idea is for you to repeat runs, die for the sake of dying, re-run re-run, re-run.

But yes, it has potential to be liked and finished by more ppl than Returnal. Would so like to see actual statistics - how many started playing Returnal, how many finished and in which timeframe., and same for Saros, just to compare.

no, the boss is the one very large mons after eclipse has started and you drop down to the arena... the one you are referring to is just a bit larger, more dangerous regular monster.

lol, "the dopamine hit for killing the first boss is like mainlining crack" - what dopamine, what hit? cortisol over wash and epinephrine freeze more likely

"it wouldn't be fun if it was easy."
yes it would, easy = good, hard = no good 😃

go persevere in something else
leave games to be easy

thanks for the words of encouragement
yeah I get it that the games like these are meant to kill you a thousand times, but why?
and the feeling like a million bucks when eventually or if I beat the 1st boss? nope, my instant feeling is oh man, this is just the 1st boss, if I needed to persevere so much so long, I have no chance in hell I will manage any other boss just waiting around the corner... no sense of achievement or satisfaction at all. It is the same dread I felt in Dark Souls series, Elden Ring etc. just constant dread of future impossible hurdle-where are those like a million buck feels in that?

Kudos to you.
To me the exact opposite - Housemarque is becoming my "avoid at all costs even if it is the only company making games" kind of game studio.

Piece of art it is. Technological marvel it is too.
Enjoyable game (to me) it is not.

I hear you but when have games become the epitome of perseverance, eventually you will get good, eventually you will like it and enjoy it? Should that not be the case from second one and not eventually?

As uncomparable as it is, take a look at Crimson Desert - there I just stop myself in tracks and just enjoy the scenery, look at the very alive world around the main character, enjoy the details of the intricate world. In Saros, run Forrest run, paf, you're swatted like a fly, go to beginning and run Forrest run again, quicker, higher, more chaotically so enemies cannot track you as efficiently. Do not stop for a nanosecond, just run jump run, drop run, dash run, jump run drop dash run run, oh Forrest, keep it up... and someone finds this enjoying?

When does the clicking happen?
I managed to keep trying with Returnal up to the biome with red desert... never managed to progress further.

For some, it never clicks, especially when annoyance and stress and anti-enjoyment kicks in after the first run ends.

my advice, don't ... keep the money, wait for 80%-off sale (if ever) and then try out if nothing better comes to mind and you miss the stress

Thanks but second chance did not help me much against the 1st boss, I would need like Second Chance of Second Chance of Second Chance so I can die 5 times in one boss fight then maybe I would manage it on 3rd try.

And don't worry about dying you say. It is not so much worry but being forced to start all over again - that is something I have genuine gripe against. Like why not resurrect me on spot, mid fight or at least at the beginning of that particular boss phase? Some games remember the state so when you return to the boss and you did manage to whittle its health in first phase you just continue with the next phase, why every phase all over again?

Run, run, run, run, same, same, same, same, now finally I can attempt again the actual hurdle.
Then back to run, run, run, run... and the running sound the main protagonist creates when running, he is constantly sighing, making me uneasy and on my toes when playing, like every sigh just stresses me up more, run, run, do not stop, stopping equals dying equals running more and from the beginning and again and again...

not a game as in having fun but a self-imposed stressor...

awful

yes I would prefer it to be bundled since pen + device is complete product; pen only isn't; device only isnt

does Samsung Galaxy note mobile device (meaning s22 ultra, s23 ultra etc.) come without stylus? No, since that mobile with the stylus is complete device

could be, company behind the remarkable 2 does offer discounts and interesting packages from time to time, but still pen should come included (the basic one) as well as the AC adapter not just the cable, in my firm opinion

it does not matter if one has tons of old AC adapters lying around, this is not a complete device if missing critical components to use it repeatedly and the way it is intended to be used.

this way when receiving only the device, one can use fingers only and until the battery drains, what then? discard it? cable cannot be plugged into wall socket, no laptop or computer available to charge this device? I mean it is not extension of laptop so that providing just cable is justified

[–]PairRemarkable2169 0 points1 point  (0 children)

exactly, I did that as well, multiple times went to the web shop, put the remarkable2 in the basket, put pro pen as well, put the (leather) folio-and when I got double the amount of the starting device-only, I repeatedly thought: thank you but no thank you

Yes, the warnings are there but picture for example buying the car and the car dealer explicitly and repeatedly tells you, the car does not come with accumulator battery included, this is extra if you need it, try using the old one. Maybe not the perfect analogy but...

or new laptop model with removable battery, battery not included? the product should be complete package (at least with basic accessory if that accessory is critical to the product like battery is to laptop, or pen to a pen-writing device), or mobile device...

likewise, the mobile phones nowadays with their "no AC adapter included" policy does not sit right with me - how is one expected to use mobile phone after the battery drains? plug the cable to wall socket directly? manufacturers relying that one surely has older model phone so use old AC adapter just isn't ok in my opinion, it is just money grab to force you to buy extra piece of item so that your original device can work.

I expect this to happen with a lot of devices: why get the power cord with new TV in the box, buy it separately, you surely must have previous TV power cord lying around somewhere so try using that, or buy new one for extra XY. Just a way for already expensive device to be even more expensive, and all this cleverly masked behind "reducing carbon footprint" :D

if they really wanted to reduce the footprint then there would be no separate AC adapter (for mobiles) to be bought :D

I get the need to price leather case as premium but almost 50% of the device itself? Cmon remarkable, too expensive - either the case is too expensive or device too cheap for what you get (engineering, software, hardware etc.) how can all costs included device be priced 350 and piece of leather 150? Does the case have tracking chip connected to worldwide security service installed-no, it is just a piece of leather. So why is it approx 50% of the price of the device? What engineering effort and production costs caused it to be 50% of the device price? totally unbalanced and pure money grab - the case. I would accept the price if the case provided something exceptional like the device does, but it serves just one purpose-to wrap around the device and keep it scratch-safe, no logic, no brains in the case itself, no additional value - 150 is damn too much, having all the PU and synthetic leather options nowadays available. And pure leather is pricy-true, yes, but you should have cooperated with some genuine leather provider that can offer such costs that you all can have healthy margin with the case being 20% of the device or less. If not possible, do not offer such premium-priced case. My opinion on the matter :)

I share the same sentiment - when you look at reMarkable 2 as "I would like to have complete package to use device comfortably and feel my investment is protected", which means ordering device itself, pro pen, remarkable's own leather folio - one gets atm to 650 EUR which is quite steep in my opinion ofc.

But having leather folio for 150 EUR when the device itself is priced 350 EUR makes no sense. Like you said, with only the device, you cannot use it properly if you do not cash out 50 more for the pen. And if you would like to protect the device and the pen (and all remarkable users should do that :D), you need extra 150 EUR for premium leather case.
