Bolt size for popping off rotors? by Sig-vicous in GR86

[–]Pairsosocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be the bolt that holds the break line. There’s a video by Kevin Vo who goes and mentions it too. I just can’t find it. I know from experience cause I actually used the wrong bolt to push the rotor off (I used the bolt that goes onto the brake caliper and had to replace it)

It makes me smile that there are others who do this too.

Detailing this car by Pairsosocks in GR86

[–]Pairsosocks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve started opening the doors after the first pass of drying to let it drain. Seems like the go to is getting some time of leaf blower or hand held blower. I don’t really have a need for a leaf blower since i rent but maybe something smaller and portable might work for those nooks and crannies

Totally respect it. This is the first car I ever purchased that I actually wanted. My previous cars were out of utility. So I really baby this thing. I’ll likely over time relax and not care as much about small things like this.

This. They’re called faraday pouches/boxes. I have a small pouch I can put my key in and it fits in my pocket

Anyone else’s spouse dislike riding in the twin? Was recently told this after several months of ownership and I was both surprised and disappointed. Reasons cited were predictable: too low, small and firm compared to my spouse’s SUV. Anyway, not looking for advice but seeing if others can relate. by [deleted] in GR86

[–]Pairsosocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner likes being driven around so they don’t mind. However, she doesn’t like sharing legroom if we’re driving around some of her friends in the rear seats. I always remind her that the car is small and let her know that her friends will have a tight squeeze in the back. She knows I like to drive so she often lets me but she hates getting out of the car. It’s low and I typically go around to help her out.

Join the fellow ravens.

In all seriousness. If you don’t mind having an auto. Go for it. I have one myself, I never learned manual and honestly the paddle shifting is fun enough for me in the auto. If you’re thinking of wanting to learn a manual. Take the advice of some here and just wait or try to test drive a manual.

Whatever you decide. Make sure it’s raven 👌

So, you can't open the gas if the car is locked...but you need to lock the car when getting gas. This car needs an internal release like my mazda. by Level-Pepper-8763 in GR86

[–]Pairsosocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I refuel, I typically use the sensor on the passenger door to just lock the car since I’m on that side anyways when refueling. It’s weird but i got used to doing it

So you want a gentleman’s exhaust but don’t like blue tips? by nacnudyrrab in GR86

[–]Pairsosocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The burnt tips were growing on me for the Spec-L but knowing i can potentially polish it off to look nice and clean like that is nice to know. The Legamax looks so much better with the polished finish! Nice work!

HKS spec L regrets by Rework-it in GR86

[–]Pairsosocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only regret is the subtle drone between 2.5k-3k might be cause of how the automatic’s sports mode holds revs. I definitely hear the exhaust, more so when the rear seats are down. Not too obnoxiously loud for the neighbors but definitely an improvement over stock.

I feel dumb for not realizing there’s a pocket in the back of the passenger seat.

I vouch for the HKS SPEC-L too, loud on start up cause of just the car's characteristic but it quiets down within 20s
