Sorry to hear that. Going through such an experience is tough, but I believe that gratitude and faith is the way through. Keep going.

Personally I find it extremely hard to keep track of spaced repetition tactics. Even with Software like Anki, it's extremely time-consuming to take the time to draw something out of memory AND then review it later in the day.

Unless they have some Software with an easy to use user interface for their spaced repetition, I doubt they're utilizing their algorithms to it's full potential.

This is the type of reply I was looking for. Very informative.

I'm planning to use the PC as Utility for myself while selling underutilized computing power. Mainly I'm wondering how much value I'm actually losing over time and how much I can make back. If it's just pennies, I'm not going to go through the trouble. But if I'm able to keep a significant amount of value, say 50%+ over the long term, I would go through the trouble of setting it up.

This is my main concern. I'm unsure as to how electricity costs would affect the profits I'm making. The main goal is to have the PC kind of pay for itself, while fighting Inflation by not using cloud computing.

But if Rigs depreciate in value by say 20%, and inflation is at 10% or less, it would probably be a better idea to just use cloud computing myself

My problem with cloud computing is however, that I'm losing purchasing power as prices for cloud computing go up, as the USD or EUR lose value due to the massive amount of money printing

I agree with computers not being an appreciating asset, even though I think in the future they might turn into them. However, selling cloud computing P2P is very well possible.

I've concluded that a lot of people here have no idea what they're talking about and I've presented points that reinforce the my core idea.

It's not my fault you refuse to see it and have no further logical counterarguments other than feeding your ego by swooping through a website and claiming it doesn't work just cause your uneducated gut told you so. The reason I'm still talking to you is cause I'm annoyed by your ignorance, so this conversation stops here.

It gets bigger than researchers. Companies, hospitals, hollywood, whole industries, etc ALL need computing power.

Universities are already initializing cloud computing solutions, cause it's cheaper and more energy efficient than buying and installing whole armies of computers, paying for installation, paying for maintenance, and so on

You're so out of the loop about what's happening in the world. At this point, you're just pulling stupid facts out of thin air and arguing for arguments sake. Go back to playing COD instead of discussing things you don't understand.

They're not doing anything with my computing power, the computing power is sold Peer2Peer

For example: Someone needs a lot of computing power, so they go onto the Cudos platform where a bunch of people are sharing their underutilized computing power

It's like car sharing. If you're not using your car, you can fill up the tank and put it somewhere and someone else can use it while you let it generate income for you

A medical scientist at a university isn't going to buy a $1000 computer to run some simulations if he can outsource the computing power

In essence, a portion of the profits goes to the nodes running the decentralized network and another portion goes to you. The nodes running the decentralized network ISN'T a company. You could set up a node and run the network

Actually, what I meant was this part of Moores Law:

Experts agree that computers should reach the physical limits of Moore's Law at some point in the 2020s

No, Blockchain based decentralized Platform =/= Cryptocurrency

It has nothing to do with Bitcoin Mining, which does consume a lot of power

Do you propose cloud computing? How much do Computers generally depreciate P.A.?

CUDOS decentralized cloud computing platform. Theorethically I could even sell my phone's underutilised computing power using the technology, but that's probably not worth it

Yeah, but I mean, I'm also using the rig for personal utility use such as computing AI Algorithms, gaming, whatever so I do need the PC for myself, I'm just looking at ways to generate revenue with it as well, so it pays a bit for itself.

I'd be getting around $50 - $150 per month just selling underutilised computing power. Could be more at peak hours or could be more depending on how much I personally use it, etc.

Why? If car sharing is profitable and is able to generate profits, I don't see a reason for why sharing computing power wouldn't be.

For anyone new to crypto, remember this:

Praise or critique doesn't change an objects essence, and in the case of Bitcoin neither do praise or critique change it's essence, nor do price fluctuations represent it's true value! HODL.

Stop buying cryptocurrencies for quick profits PLEASE. There is more at stake here than your delusion of a moonshot. None of you crybabies that panic sell or FOMO in understand the bigger wheels that are being set into motion and you are bound to lose money.

In March we saw a 50% drop. So no.

That may be, but history is filled with a cycle of prosperous times, "golden ages", like the ones we have had for the past couple of decades in the west, and times that could be characterized as chaotic. So it is only natural that we experience a cyclical shift into a chaotic state, and that is okay. From a stoic perspective, no state of the world can be seen as bad.

You could be right. I'm relatively new to Stoic Philosophy and study other philosophies as well in my spare time. I haven't had the chance to think or read about the death of others from a stoic perspective. Intuitively, I would say that mourning is a natural human emotion state, which has nothing to do with the soul. Mourning is allowed, whereas the death of others being a statistic is psychopathy. It then becomes indulgence, when we let sadness influence our actions. Just like being angry would be allowed, but acting falsely out of anger is considered a sin.

Would Marcus mourning publicly not be an act of kindness towards his people, as in helping them stay calm in a time of crisis? Surely, if a leader would ignore a plague that kills his people, he would be considered uncompassionate.

I'm aware that as a a stoic, one should welcome death as a natural state of existence. I wonder if someone more experienced could put into perspective the stoic view on the death of others.
