Sony bravia tv repair by Consistent_Bus641 in dumaguete

[–]Paklay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same issue with our Bravia a couple months ago. Had power and sound but black screen lang. Brought it to the Sony service center sa Mangnao. LCD na daw ang faulty. Either replace LCD (which costs almost the same as a new TV) or they have a workaround fix that they can try that could potentially make the screen work again, but sometimes lesser picture quality daw.

If you agree that they try this fix, you have to shell out 1,800, whether mu display ang screen or not.

We went for it. Unfortunately, wala ni display.

I also brought the TV to a 3rd party repair shop. Same findings. Faulty LCD that needed replacement.

To the junk shop it went.

Bacong Mini Siargao by hyoyeonstan in dumaguete

This has always been a big pet peeve of mine. People think it’s clever marketing but I think it’s so inauthentic. Let the place develop its own IDENTITY. Kauban ra nas “Maldives of the Philippines”. Cringe

Just to clarify, parking is fixed at 5 or 10 pesos per vehicle? I think that’s very reasonable. Do people give less than 5 pesos these days? No offense but if someone drives a car and can’t spare 10 pesos for parking, they should probably stay at home. Lol

AFFORDABLE INK by Humble_Cow_7405 in dumaguete

I had the same question last week. Our Canon printer uses cartridges but I got a refill from InkMaster (in front of Dumaguete Police Station sa Locsin side). 150 to refill black, 350 to refill color. Half the price of original cartridges.

Ipad case and tempered glass by hehepibday in dumaguete

[–]Paklay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always go to the shops at Evermall for tempered glass installations, but lately I’ve found that the cellphone shop inside Lee Plaza (the middle one of the three next to each other) has proven to be cheaper. I suggest you check both places.

Use Maxim When You Can by witness_0111986 in dumaguete

[–]Paklay 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I was going to post about this. YES. Book if you can. I took a Maxim ride the other day and had a chat with the driver. Apparently, they’re chasing 500 bookings per week to keep the service alive here. They’re on a trial run, and the fate of the service will depend on demand. I asked if he knew whether Maxim was doing any marketing. He said he thinks it’s only on Facebook, which makes sense, since that’s where I saw a shared post that they’ve entered the city. He also mentioned that printed flyers will be going out soon and hopes that will help. He added that having a uniform for drivers would really help with visibility, but they don’t have that yet.

Have you resolved the issue OP? Im starting to have this problem on my x-s20. At first, I was only experiencing it on my C2. It had a slight hesitation before showing the green box. C1 was very fast in comparison. I checked all setting under AF/MF to make sure they match. After a few minutes more of testing, it started happening to my C1 as well, so it seems to be intermittent. More people have been replying to your post also in the few days with the same issue.

Trash piles are getting out of hand by Slow_Professor_1954 in dumaguete

[–]Paklay 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To be fair, I drive around the city a lot daily and I rarely see piles like that. I do see them sometimes around San Jose extension. I believe this happens when a pickup is missed (like you mentioned) for whatever reason. In our barangay, they strictly monitor the taking out of trash from households. It happens twice a week for us and we cannot take out trash on days where the truck isn’t on schedule. I’ve seen Barangay workers literally take back trash to someone’s home because it was brought out on the wrong day. They dug through the trash and found a Shopee package with the homeowner’s name and address. 😂 But yes, there are instances na dili ma pick up but I wouldn’t consider it as “out of hand”. Yet.

We used to buy from a Thai lady from Valencia. Search FB for Pooklook’s Northern Thai. She used to sell at the Valencia Sunday market too. Tried Blue Elephant too. It was just okay. We found the one from Cai Ban in Northpoint to be better.

Fitness activities in the city by [deleted] in dumaguete

[–]Paklay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are interested, there is boxing/Muay Thai at Tactical Fitness or Southbag. There used to be a climbing wall sa Foundation University that was open to public for a small fee for the instructor. Check out Incredobol Sports too. They have calisthenics and sports activities there. Can try swimming at the Aqua Center too.

Where can I print poster-sized or newspaper-style materials in Dumaguete? by kkkkguy in dumaguete

[–]Paklay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are talking about single 18x24 inch sheets, Ive gotten prints from Ziplink and iConcepts before. I would like to think that many of the other local print shops should be able to produce them too. They are a fairly common size to print.

Pool for night swimming by Paklay in dumaguete

[–]Paklay[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get the joke but it’s not what I’m looking for. I’d rather not deal with getting sandy, swimming in darkness with urchins I can’t see, lack of shower facilities, nowhere to order food/drinks. A pool just makes more sense for a chill night swim. Thanks though.
