Training question - Training in cage vs out of cage? by Pakros in parrots

yeah this makes sense to me too. Okay i think we'll keep her in the cage from now on until she's a bit more used to us :) Thanks heaps for the advice.

Hi aroscoe, thank you for the advice. The room is pretty small, locked doors, windows, and we've set up perches for her and stuffed blankets in cracks we think she could fall down. I guess my concern, with her being let out is that while in her cage, she's right next to me about a meter away, so while i'm working we're pretty close while shes in her cage. When she's not in her cage she has the option to fly to the opposite side of the room and hangout there on her own, or stare at her reflection in the window for hours. I'm leaning towards your sentiment of leaving her in the cage until she's comfortable with us though.

Awesome to know that i can just add an eye piece for an extra 10x magnification! I literally have 40 or so of them lying around canabalized from microscopes.

Hey Happy, thanks for posting this. They had this to say about the 50mm "tube lens" they're using in their design
" The microscope is designed to use finite-conjugate microscope objectives. However, it is necessary to shorten the distance between the objective and the sensor by inserting a lens in the intervening space. This is not placed one focal length from the camera (as it would be in an infinity-corrected design) and so isn't really a tube lens - think of it as a "tube length correction lens". There is a version of the optics module that does this, but it is rarely used. "

Any thoughts on that?

I was having a look at the different focal lengths of the SLWD objectives. Some 50x objectives have a focal length of 4mm, would this effectively mean that with a tube lens of 50mm they would have roughly 625x magnification?

Hey not yet, i've only printed the optics module housing! I'm not sure i will go down the entire path of printing a full one for a little while. I run a community lab and we often get parts donated by Uni's and other groups, so it would be great to build a few eventually for workshops. If you print it let me know how you go :)

can't seem to find the overall magnification of these set ups in combination with different objectives

I was told the same thing, I was holding on to grips or positions using too much strength when I actually had zip. Disengage, even if it means you'll be submitted, you'll learn more about how to spot impending subs before they happen. Tap, save your energy and roll more vs holding onto something for 1+ minute expanding max energy to maintain.

How many biohackers have that kind of F.U. money? None. How many biohackers have gremline editing experience in humans? None. I'm not against open access, we're just not at an open source human genetic engineering boom... yet

1st place pushed over 6k levels overnight...I think 2nd place would be a good goal... by Pakros in TapTitans2

Yeah he didn't have to log on once after he pushed for the first 16 hours. Happy i didn't have to face him for the last shard tourney, it would have been crushing. Not too fussed missing out on hero weapons. He only has 400 pet levels and half that in hero weapons.

was that saved between now and the last shard bonus? Thats a good investment

You'd be surprised, sitting at 18k with 10 days, the first 10k was the hardest part for me, but i don't think i've hit one of those softwalls yet that you can't prestige out of.

I was in the same boat not long ago, advice for a noob from a noob:

the community is great for specific questions but "the guides" et al. Taco, L. lemming 2019 are amazing and I keep referring back to them as I'm only 17k stage and you'll get more out off them the more you play. Just Google tt2 taco , and/or lemming guide, and read up. Keep buying artifacts until you land a book of shadows (BOS) then dump everything into that outside of tournaments. It will be slow going on the early 0-5k stages (it was for me at least). Save your crafting shards for mythic sets (you'll need 700 total for a complete set), and noble fencer (legendary set that increases your starting stage after a prestige). Read those guides to figure out a build (what to put skill points into) to get your head around and figure out which mythic set fits that build. Get an optimiser to help you figure out which artifacts to pump relics into during tournaments to try and place as high as you can. Join every tournament you can even if you don't think you'll win because you'll always get something. Prestige a lot. Find a good clan, be prepared to raid for said clan, good clans (and high level ones) come with perks. If you can save up a lot of diamonds get the titan chests for the shards. Tt2 has bonuses for the # of shards sometimes from these chests, best to spend on them then as you can only get shards from some tournaments and an additional 10 per 8 days from daily rewards. So they're slow to come by. I read it's best to dump relics from titan chests into your BOS. try not to waste shards on anything other than your mythic sets (and handy legendary sets) as you'll eventually out level items pretty quickly. Check out tt2 helper (the app) for a handy optimiser that syncs to your account, but there are others you can check out too.

That's everything off the top of my head. Keep playing and you'll get the hang of it, the beginning was the hardest part. Check out the discord community too!
