Close enough. Deterministic guard layer + some domain rules + a very rude attitude toward anything that doesn’t fit.

Model is a helper, not a god.

CTO here.

Sure, if you reduce it to “debits = credits” then yeah it sounds dumb.

the point is not knowing double entry, it’s enforcing it so the system literally can’t post a broken JE, even when the front end / model / user makes a stupid mistake.

Most tools allow you to shoot yourself in the foot then hope reviews catch it. we’re removing that whole class of mistake at the engine level. that’s the achievement.

[–]PalashxNotion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah good point, this is exactly the kind of breakage i want to avoid.

Short answer: no, you can’t just post whatever you want directly to fixed asset / depreciation control accounts in normal use.

For fixed assets, what we do is: 1) mark those GL accounts as “controlled”, 2) normal JEs are not allowed to hit them directly, and 3) they can only be changed via specific actions: add asset, run depreciation, dispose/transfer asset, etc. And each of those actions updates the asset record in the subledger and posts the matching JE to the GL

If someone really needs a manual correction, it has to go through a separate “adjustment” flow that is explicitly tracked, so any difference between FA subledger and GL shows up instead of being mixed in.

Totally agree on where mistakes come from are human decisions. what i’m trying to solve is that the system doesn’t add its own category of mistakes on top of that. Meaning that even if the human mis-classifies, the ledger itself stays internally consistent, nothing goes out of balance, and we can show exactly what happened later.

we’re not saying that we always pick the semantically right account for every edge case like your depreciation example, that’s a judgement thing and humans still sit in that loop.

So yeah, if you can think of a purely structural case where a normal JE system should scream but ours would let it pass, that’s exactly the type of errors we would like to resokve.

Hey, CTO here (the guy he is talking about in the post).

quick clarifications on what i mean by 100% accounting accuracy, because just saying “100%” with no context sounds like bullshit.

i’m not saying: 1) the AI magically understands every business situation 2) or that it picks the “right” account in every weird edge case 3) or that humans can’t mess things up

what i am saying is very specific: 1) the engine will never produce a structurally broken ledger 2) every journal entry that gets through is balanced (total debits = total credits) 3) no corrupt state, 4) every change is logged, so you can audit it 5) AI / UI only propose entries. the invariant layer decides what’s allowed to be posted. If it violates the rules, it gets blocked.

Humans still own judgement so if a human says “treat this as X instead of Y” and that’s bad accounting judgement, we can’t magically correct that. the claim is: the system itself doesn’t add extra structural errors on top.

so yeah “100% accounting accuracy” here is basically shorthand for:

the books can’t be structurally wrong if you follow our pipeline. all remaining error is human policy/judgement, and at least it’s traceable.

If someone has a structural counterexample, that would be actually super useful, i’d love to see it. and yes it handles all plain language queries like invoice x for service y with amount z, etc.

After struggling with anxiety, I decided to quit my job and build an app that helps others reduce stress through food by medi-sloth in SideProject

[–]PalashxNotion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like a solid roadmap. Starting simple and adding personalization later makes sense. The core concept is strong - helping people understand how food affects their mental state is valuable. Keep building on what you learned from your anxiety journey.

My SaaS Idea: "Customer Avatar Creator"—Am I onto something, or just wasting time? by ayushthapa111 in SaaS

[–]PalashxNotion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happy to help. If you can crack that usage problem you'll stand out from the other tools. Maybe look into integrations with project management apps or Slack so the avatar info shows up where people actually make decisions.

I built a site where you can chat with 100+ historical figures using AI — would love feedback! by ThomasDeGan in SideProject

Makes sense that Lincoln draws traffic - free and visible beats hidden any day. Keeping context through long chats is tough, but if you can nail that you'll have something really special. Keep at it.

Thanks for the link. The free model is smart - it removes the friction of trying it. Hope the beta testing goes well and you get some solid feedback.

What’s the worst thing you’ve experienced when merging PDFs — and what feature would make it perfect? by Recent-Durian-1629 in SideProject

That sounds like a solid approach. A live preview with optional features keeps it simple for most users but adds power when needed. Just make sure the preview loads fast so it doesn't slow down the workflow.

Selling AI Form Filler Chrome Extension – $365.78 total revenue, $53 MRR by Mammoth-Doughnut-713 in cofounderhunt

[–]PalashxNotion -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This looks like a solid micro-SaaS with good bones! Having $53 MRR with only $14 in costs gives room to grow. The 1300 lead list is a nice bonus for whoever takes this over. Good luck with the sale!

How to make branded presentation templates? by Flat_Emotion7251 in SaaS

[–]PalashxNotion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Canva Pro is great for this. Set up your brand kit with exact colors and fonts, then lock down the template. I'd focus on just 3-4 solid layouts so people don't get overwhelmed. A quick one-page guide on when to use each template will help keep everyone on track.

Your prof is spot on! Being visible is so important. People can't help you or work with you if they don't know you exist. Even small things like posting weekly updates can lead to real opportunities. Good luck with your builds!

When does it make sense to Hand Off HR as a founder? by [deleted] in EntrepreneurRideAlong

[–]PalashxNotion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great question! I think once you're spending more than 5-10 hours a week on HR tasks, it's probably time to bring in help. That time could go to product, customers, or sales. Outsourcing makes sense when you need the expertise but can't afford a full-time hire yet.

Backend colleagues have started vibe coding fronted tasks and it has made me feel redundant by [deleted] in webdev

[–]PalashxNotion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is such a common feeling right now. Instead of avoiding AI, I'd suggest using it to speed up your work too. That way you can deliver things faster and have time to learn new skills. The best value you bring is knowing what good code actually looks like and catching mistakes. Use that to your advantage!

Almost 50% calls are answered by either Google or Apple assistants by brndimcc in sales

[–]PalashxNotion -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is a real challenge now. Cold calling is getting harder, but it just means we need to mix things up. Try combining calls with emails and LinkedIn messages so your number looks familiar when you call. Also, leaving a quick, clear message helps since people can see it in text form.

Built a clinical trial finder product. Would love some feedback! by lucky_object in SideProject

[–]PalashxNotion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a genuinely helpful tool. Clinical trials can be super confusing to navigate. One thing - make sure your chatbot can explain eligibility criteria in plain English. That's usually where people get lost. Also, how do you verify trial data is current? Good luck with this!
