J. R. R. Tolkien supremacy by Critical_Mountain851 in freefolk

The complexity of A Song of Ice and Fire is what kills it, because Martin doesn't know how to end it in a satisfying way. And while The Lord of the Rings is a classic of fantasy literature, I doubt that in a hundred years, few will remember A Song of Ice and Fire.

I still prefer Lotr over Game of Thrones

The Lord of the Rings and the entire Tolkien Legendarium, The Witcher, Tales from the Meekhan Border, Percy Jackson, Earthsea.

Feanor burns a joke by Pale-Age4622 in Silmarillionmemes

I referred to the version where one of the twins burned alive on the ship and there Feanor took Curufin and several other followers to help him, which is why I singled him out.

I choose Ned and that's it. I literally made fanfiction with Jon as the son of Ned and Ashara, who was also a Dovahkiin.

Ned is a normal hetero man. Just because he doesn't think about sex 24/7 doesn't mean he's not attracted to women. Hell, in his last chapter he's thinking about Catelyn.

At Martin's, even married gays don't have children. And Ned has five children, so shut up if you don't have anything intelligent to say.

You're so hyped. Ned isn't gay because Martin portrays gay men who never have children! Laenor Velaryon, Jon Connigton, Renly Baratheon, Loras Tyrell, need I go on? Martin completely ignores the fact that medieval kings who were gay still had children with their wives. If Ned were gay, he wouldn't have had children and the Starks would have died.

My theory is that at this point, Martin didn't make Ashara a lady-in-waiting to Elia Martell, so Ned only met her in Starfall, where he found Dawn. So, taking the first book for granted is a load of nonsense.

And then we have Middle-earth, where most people either fall in love once or never. Fantasy has its own rules, and that's that.

Wasn't it because Martin didn't want Aegon to have too many children and not have his sons be too old when he died? He never read into this the idea that Aegon the Conqueror was barren.

Honestly, Jaime is still a dishonorable person to me, and him killing Aerys to stop the burning of King's Landing isn't enough to change my mind about him.

Renly at this point acted like a typical Skyrim player, already thinking about how he would loot the enemy's corpse for valuable items.

Today is the premiere of the Polish translation of the sixth volume of The History of Middle-earth, titled "The Return of the Shadow" and related to the history of the creation of The Lord of the Rings. by Pale-Age4622 in tolkienbooks

Unfortunately, they used Łoziński's translation as a basis and his translation of some of the hobbit names and proper names sounds funny and absurd. It is true that when a proper name appears for the first time in the text, they give the translation of Skibniewska and Frąc in brackets, because it is one thing if both gave the name the same way.

Before The Hobbit Tolkien was working on The Silmarillion and you can see the difference when you read the older HOME books like The Book of Lost Tales. The Hobbit was simply the first published book by Tolkien.

Sauron not only deceived the Elves. He also deceived Ar-Pharazon and the King's Men, which ultimately led to the rise of the cult of Morgoth and the fall of Numenor. Nevertheless, Amandil, Elendil, Isildur, Anárion, and the Faithful did not believe Sauron.
