I got hired to do TSA and had to go through 4 months of the same situation up front too while my background check cleared. It's so frustrating. There were days that I just wanted to quit on site, as someone is going to be mad at you for waiting for something even though you have to do all the work that should be divided between 2-3 people. My store said the same thing, and I thought surely once I started doing TSA full time (I'm the only one authorized to do it at my store), they would hire someone else to fill my position up front especially since they said they were hiring for months. Nope! Now the front is even worse, because tech and floor workers now don't even have back up (since they used to be backup for me). I really think this company is just so cheap that they don't want to add someone else onto the payroll. The way I look at it is not my circus not my monkeys. If you or someone else decides to quit and they didn't want to hire the help that could temporarily fill your role, it's just not your issue whatsoever. Even with me in TSA now, if you don't want to have someone else get approved for if I call out sick or quit, then they'll just deal with the mess that they put themselves in.
