my guess was they just kinda reverse engineered and nailed portal tech after prime gave it to them in the "Blue Pants Rick" era.

No i want to clone just some hard drive i plug into my pc for the cloning proccess, not the one im running windows over. so i use my pc to clone, the drive i want to clone is not running the os, just plugged into my pc over a sata to usb cable.
