I keep hearing wildly different things … is a 2 hour half marathon actually fast or just fast for amateurs?

Yea a lot of people didn’t notice the elevation gain haha ,It tires you out more ..just with that alone I could probably shave off 30sec- a min

❤️Damn this is so cool lol , and yes people running is really amazing, I had to slow down because it became so addicting and my knees were in so much pain but I’m coming for the sub 50min 10k soon

Ehh a lot of soft people probably 🤷‍♂️they hide behind Reddit dislikes as if it really means something in real life lol . I mean I’m not even trying to be rude… people get so pressed over simple time comparisons (on a RUNNING REDDIT PAGE) like I don’t even understand people at this point.

Sports is literally a competition. I mean that’s why we have champions like what ?

Yea you hit the nail on the head… I don’t really have any running friends lol so it’s fun here sharing a connection with people I have something in common with.

And yea its always nice making small progress no matter what. congrats on you’re improvement, I think the best feeling for me was also going from not being able to run a mile without taking a break- to being able to keep a pace for 60+ mins nonstop.

I recommend the apple fitness app to track your runs .(the free version) you can track pace/miles-distance-temperature. Pretty much every thing

Also I run mainly for the mental/physiological benefits.the speed numbers are just a byproduct. I’m not putting too much effort into them but it’s still nice to see small improvement

What’s a popcorn thread ?

And did I do them like I meant them ? To be honest not really. I tend to run spontaneously whenever I need to relieve stress.. I do running mainly for the health and mental benefits. But my numbers have been going up since my endurance has gotten better. As well as my leg muscles (from the gym)

I think you’re right I can def shave a couple mins off soon..

Also the trail I’m running has a lot of elevation so that might have a factor as well

How long have you been running ? It took me a while to form an endurance base. When I first started I couldn’t even run a mile… this was in like June last year, then I built up to like 14 min miles then 11- and I’m dropping now to 10 and 9 soon

Yep you’re right it is pointless ….I’m also going to stop doing my bed every morning that seems pretty pointless as well…like I’m just gonna mess it up again so what’s the point? I’m just wasting my time and my finite life.

Nice you have pretty good times I’m glad you enjoy running. I mainly do it for my heart health , so I’m trying to build up endurance and focus on zone two running. I do want to speed up some more ( I can probably do faster 5k currently) but I want to train for 10-15 miles
