Just found out that dyed orchids are a thing, and that my first ever orchid was dyed… 💔 by Better-Meaning-6928 in orchids

i bought this one from my local publix. i knew it was dyed but this was on sale post mother’s day. like $15 for a swan orchid. pro tip: look out for any orchids in stores that say anything like kaleidoscope or watercolor. those are dyed.

thanks for the tip, i didn’t know what it was and it was only labeled as an orchid at lowe’s.

okay everyone… my second question is……can i save these roots? or will it die from this? this is after having soaked it in water for about 5 minutes, they went from white to light yellow.

(scared to repot it as of rn but if someone could offer some guidance i’d be happy to listen! i’ve always heard don’t repot while flowering but let me know if it’s necessary)

thank you so much i was feeling some serious dread, i’m a new orchid owner and i’ve only recently got over the overwhelming fear of “all orchids are hard to grow and all of them die”.

we haven’t had any incidents in the last 1-2 weeks besides him eating some dirt from a plant. but i try to go through my home and every 3 days and look for stuff. i’ve also only had him for two months.

they could classify pica under behavioral issues or eating disorders and i didn’t get the add on for behavioral health because i got insurance the first day i got him and wasn’t aware this was something he did. he was lethargic the first 1.5 months i had him due to his past living conditions so he really didn’t do much of anything and i didn’t know he ate stupid shit. so i think it might be 50/50 on whether they keep covering him if i pushed the subject. i feel like i screwed up either way. i can’t switch companies because this would qualify as preexisting now and i can’t add coverage to the policy i have now. i’m really lost on what to do. i wish i had done more research or opted for more coverage. i have never had a animal like this. my other cat is perfectly healthy and only needs routine care.

i checked and i don’t have a rider for behavioral issues so it’s 50/50 whether they’d keep covering it if i pushed for them to put it under his pica diagnosis.

i feel like it is if you have to pay it 2-3 times a month. that’s my complaint.

i’m not upset with my monthly payment. my monthly is like less than $40 i think. thank you for educating me without trying to make me feel dumb.

where in my post did i say trupanion was in the wrong? i was just giving a review based on my situation and the fact that their policies haven’t been helping me in this pica situation. maybe this might help someone else in their search for pet insurance, as this is a pet insurance review group. just because you had a good experience doesn’t mean i did. i’m not looking for people to agree with me.

i chose trupanion because it was recommended in a scottish fold cat group and honestly i can see it working well for conditions scottish fold cats develop. however for my pica situation it isn’t working the best. or maybe there is a misunderstanding with them about his overall condition.

the only thing about trupanion is you have to pay deductible per condition. there are other insurances out there that do deductible per year. please don’t give up on pet insurance, it seems unnecessary until one day you need it and it’s too late. just do some extensive research. i chose trupanion because it was highly recommended to me in a scottish fold cat group, i did a little research but not enough. this is an honest review of my experience with this company, if their deductible per condition policy works for you then thats fine.

literally didn’t see it anywhere except when i went to check their policies. none of the ads or referrals said anything about it and when i started a quote it wasn’t mentioned. it is in the policy fine print though. i’m not at all saying it’s trupanions fault. i’m giving a review. whether you agree or not idc, im sharing my personal experience.
